In mathematics, the notion of externology in a topological space X generalizes the basic properties of the family εXcc = {E ⊆ X : X\E is a closed compact subset of X} of complements of the closed compact subspaces of X, which are used to construct its Alexandroff compactification. An externology permits to introduce a notion of end point, to study the divergence of nets in terms of convergence to end points and it is a useful tool for the study and classification of some families of non compact topological spaces. It can also be used to approach a topological space as the limit of other topological spaces: the externologies are very useful when a compact metric space embedded in a Hilbert space is approached by its open neighbourhoods.

Storage Facility for Semiconductor Containers

A storage facility for semiconductor containers is provided. The storage structure has partitioning walls including a side wall portion extending along a vertical direction, and holding space partitioned off from exterior space by the partitioning walls. Inactive gas enriched air, which contains higher concentration of inactive gas than concentration of inactive gas contained in air in the exterior space, is supplied to the holding space. And a first opening for allowing containers being carried into and out of the storage structure to be moved through the side wall portion is formed in the side wall portion. A first inlet opening is located at a position which is in the exterior space and is adjacent an edge of the first opening. And a first drawing-in device is provided in the storage structure to discharge air drawn in through the first inlet opening into discharge space which is outside the holding space and is divided off from the exterior space.

Waterproof ventilation structure, waterproof ventilation member, and waterproof air-permeable membrane

A waterproof ventilation structure according to the present invention includes: a housing having an interior space and an opening communicating the interior space with an exterior space; and a waterproof air-permeable membrane covering the opening. The waterproof air-permeable membrane is a layered product including a first stretched porous polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) membrane containing a filler and a second stretched porous PTFE membrane not containing a filler. The waterproof air-permeable membrane is disposed so that the second stretched porous PTFE membrane is located closer to the interior space than the first stretched porous PTFE membrane. The present invention provides a waterproof ventilation structure configured such that a filler is less likely to fall in a housing.

Air handling system with self balancing air entrance door

A self balancing air handling system for conditioning an interior space includes an air handling unit having an outlet for supplying conditioned air to the space, an entrance providing an access from an exterior space to the interior space, an air plenum surrounding said space, and an inlet for returning air from said plenum to said air handling unit wherein said air handling unit supplies said conditioned air under conditions providing a positive pressure differential at said entrance between the interior space and the exterior space thereby limiting infiltration air into the interior space.

Broadcast dispenser for animal feedstuffs

A broadcast dispenser for use in dispersing an animal feedstuff includes an inlet channel separating in interior space from a spreader leading to an exterior space. The inlet channel includes a flexible gasket about a central orifice and a motor and gate assembly is arranged over and about inlet channel. The motor and gate assembly includes an electric motor having affixed thereto a spreader blade, where the spreader blade is disposed within the spreader on the opposite side of the central orifice from the motor. A gate, which is adapted to lower and raise into and out of sealing engagement, respectively, with said central orifice is provide. In order to accommodate the positioning of the spreader blade with respect to the motor, the gate has an opening in a lower portion thereof and the motor is affixed to the spreader blade through the provided opening.
