Apparatus and methods to reduce ventricular volume are disclosed. The device takes the form of a transventricular anchor, which presses a portion of the ventricular wall inward, thereby reducing the available volume of the ventricle. The anchor is deployed using a curved introducer that may be inserted into one ventricle, through the septum and into the opposite ventricle. Barbs or protrusions along the anchor body combined with a mechanical stop and a sealing member hold the device in place once deployed.

A method and apparatus for providing network based load balancing of medical image data among two or more image archive systems is disclosed. A network element is employed to interface to a network carrying medical image data that may include tasks to be performed on the data. A network service associated with the network element monitors the current load or the available capacity of each of the image archive systems. When a task is received the network service determines the level of complexity of the task and compares the level of complexity to the current load or available capacity of each of the image archive systems. The network service selects the one of the image archive systems to perform the task that has the lowest current load or highest available capacity relative to the level of complexity of the received task.

A system and method for providing highly-available volume mount points is disclosed. According to one embodiment, in a system including a shared storage resource coupled to a server cluster and accessible by a node of said server cluster, a volume mount point is provided within the shared storage resource. According to another embodiment, the shared storage resource includes a base volume and a target volume and a volume mount point corresponding to the target volume is provided within the base volume. A first mount is configured corresponding to the target volume and a mount order dependency relationship is defined between the first mount and a second mount corresponding to the base volume. The power consumption amount database stores information regarding the power consumption of components necessary for receiving and outputting the digital broadcasting. The controller receives the usable capacity of the battery from the battery capacity detector upon receiving the digital broadcasting, calculates the power necessary for receiving the digital broadcasting with reference to the power consumption amount database, compares the usable capacity of the battery with the necessary power, and controls the power applied to the components necessary for receiving and outputting the digital broadcasting according to a plurality of power saving requirements if the usable capacity of the battery is lower than the necessary power.

The invention provides an equal-loudness contour-based loudness compensation method, which comprises the following steps of: regulating a volume of an input signal, measuring sound pressure levels corresponding to all available volume values, and in each sound pressure level, filtering an input signal by using a preset frequency filter, and multiplying by a weighting coefficient of the preset frequency filter to obtain a signal; and superposing the input signal in each sound pressure level in a plurality of sound pressure levels corresponding to all the available volume values and the signal obtained through filtering and weighting. The method overcomes the defect that when the conventional audio signal is small in volume, the loudness of partial frequency band is too low, and ears of a human body cannot feel the loudness, so that the heard sound is dry and tedious; by the method, the loudness of input signals of partial frequency band is compensated, the sound is loud and full and meets the requirement of people on acoustic comfort; moreover, a sound level meter and the filter and simple computation are only required to realize the loudness compensation of the audio signal, so that the structure is simple and the cost is low.
