The invention relates to a method based on a multilevel split screen for image location and parameter calculation, which mainly comprises splitting a monitoring visual field, splitting a monitoring screen, linking the split screen with the split visual field at a predetermined spot of a camera, defining the parameters of the last level screen (mainly comprising a horizontal initial angle, an end angle, a distance closest to the camera monitoring point, a distance farthest to the camera monitoring point and a region name) and defining a calculation method of the target parameters (mainly involving the calculation of angles and distances to the camera). With the inventive method, the system can automatically feedback the information (geographical position and distance) of the monitored point according to the request of the operator during the monitoring process, and is significant in the fields of forest-fire prevention, frontier defense, water way and fire control, as well as is helpful for the operator to rapidly and accurately judge the related geographical information and take command and control in time when detecting abnormal conditions by the long-distance image monitoring system.
