System and method for dynamic zoom to view documents on small displays

A system and method for dynamic zoom adjustment based, in part, upon: the raster data in the user selected local area is disclosed; and / or the knowledge of a prevailing font size in a user selected region such that the text in that region is enlarged to be just readable. To achieve this, the detail in the local area is examined and a zoom factor is calculated that depends on the image detail and / or the viewing screen resolution. A document server may be employed to develop the information needed to enable this functionality. In one embodiment, the information is developed by RIPping the document, and then storing a spatial map of localized details (e.g., font sizes at several display resolutions) to automatically adjust a zoom level or factor and thereby facilitate navigation and reading.

Dynamic switching of parallel termination for power management with DDR memory

A system and method for managing power consumption of an information handling system dynamically switches between high and low clock speed data transfers with double data rate (DDR) memory. The selection of a high clock speed dynamically switches the DDR memory to connect to a parallel termination for more rapid data transfers with increased power consumption. The selection of a low clock speed dynamically switches the DDR memory to disconnect the parallel termination for slower data transfers with reduced power consumption. In one embodiment, portable computer graphics DDR memory reduces power consumption by selecting low clock speed transfers without parallel termination when operating on internal power. The portable computer graphics DDR memory provides improved display resolution by selecting high clock speed transfers with parallel termination when operating on external power or when displaying information from high resolution applications.

Method and camera system for blurring portions of a verification image to show out of focus areas in a captured archival image

In one aspect of the present invention, a method is provided for using a display having a predetermined display resolution to show out of focus areas in an archival image having a greater resolution than the predetermined display resolution. In this method, a verification image sized for presentation on the display, is provided. Portions of the archival image that are out of focus are identified. The verification image is blurred so that portions of the verification image that correspond to out of focus portions of the archival image appear out of focus when the verification image is presented on the display.In another aspect a camera system is provided having a source of an archival image with a predetermined resolution and a verification display having an image display resolution that is lower than the predetermined resolution of the archival image. A signal processor is provided, with said signal processor processing the archival image to identify out of focus portions of the archival image and to form a verification image formatted for presentation on the verification display said signal processor further modifying the appearance of the verification image so that portions of the verification image that correlate to identified portions of the archival image appear out of focus when the modified verification image is presented on the verification display.
