Problems solved by technology

[0007] Almost all surface modification methods will cause damage to the surface or even the interior of the fiber, resulting in a decrease in mechanical properties. Therefore, it is of great research significance to find a modification method that can not only improve the surface activity of the fiber, but also improve the mechanical properties of the fiber to a certain extent.

[0025] The carbon nanotubes are placed in a mixed solution of 98% concentrated sulfuric acid and 70% nitric acid in a ratio of 1 to 3:1. After 4 to 10 hours of ultrasonic-assisted stirring, add water to dilute, and let stand overnight to fully precipitate the carbon nanotubes. Pour the upper layer of liquid, dilute the bottom residue with deionized water and vacuum filter with a 10-50um pore size polytetrafluoroethylene membrane, rinse the filtrate repeatedly with deionized water until the filtrate is nearly neutral, and vacuum dry for use.

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for modifying aramid fiber by using carbon nano tubes, which comprises the following steps of: selecting an epoxy resin / aramid fiber composite material as a research object, selecting the carbon nano tubes as a surface modification material, forming free amino groups in a certain ratio on the aramid fiber by a chemical modification method, soaking the aramid fiber into N-methylpyrrolidone solution (NMP), and reacting the solution and the surface carboxylation carbon nano tubes with the aid of ultrasonic, wherein part of carbon nano tubes enter the interior of Kevlar fiber, and the other part of carbon nano tubes are fixed on the surface of the fiber through amido bonds formed by the carbon nano tubes and amino, thus, a aramid fiber complex inside and outside which the carbon nano tubes are doped is formed. Single fiber tensile test results and single fiber pull-out test results show that the mechanical property of the modified aramid fiber and the interface bonding strength with the epoxy resin are improved.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a method for modifying aramid fibers, in particular to a method for modifying Kevlar fibers. Background technique [0002] Kevlar is a fiber with p-phenylene terephthalamide polymer structure developed by DuPont in the 1960s. It is known as the world's three major high-performance fibers together with ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fibers and carbon fibers. It not only has excellent properties such as ultra-high strength, high modulus, acid and alkali resistance, light weight, etc., its strength is 5 to 6 times that of steel wire, its modulus is 2-3 times that of steel wire or glass fiber, and its toughness is 2 times that of steel wire. The weight is only about 1 / 5 of the steel wire, and it does not decompose or melt at a temperature of 560 degrees, and has excellent high temperature resistance. Nevertheless, the chemical inertness and smooth surface of Kevlar result in a smooth and low activity of the fiber...
