The invention relates to a folding container (100), having a first and a second side wall (11, 13), a top (10), a bottom (20), a face (12) and a back, wherein the first side wall (13) can be displacedalong the top (10), and the second side wall (11) can be displaced along the bottom (20) such that the side parts (11, 13) can be displaced toward the inside of container (100) until they are positioned parallel to the bottom (20). In order to compensate for any frictional losses in the longitudinal rails of folding containers (100), the invention provides that the top (10) and the bottom (20) are equipped with longitudinal rails (14, 15, 16, 17) extending parallel at a distance to each other for a rolling support of the first side wall (13) that can be displaced on the top (10), and for a rolling support of the second side wall (11) that can be displaced on the bottom (20), wherein tension springs (30) are integrated in the longitudinal rails (14, 15, 16, 17), tension being applied to said springs in an unfolded container (100), and the tension being removed in a folded container (100).
