Method and apparatus for universal fluid exchange

A universal fluid exchange device includes upper and lower reaction vessel supports which include pressure sealed injection and evacuation ports for each supported reaction vessel. Reaction vessels matingly engage through the injection and evacuation ports with fittings which are connected through flexible tubing to respective supplying and receiving vessels. The reaction vessels or fittings are moved into position, as required, so that reactants may be directly supplied from supplying vessels in the order and amount desired without operation of valves that can become contaminated, and so that the reaction vessels may dispel their contents into the appropriate receiving vessels. The system may be highly advantageous in applications such as combinatorial chemistry where myriad combinations of chemicals, solvents and reagents are employed.

Roller ball pen for pigmented inks

A free ink roller ball pen for dispensing low viscosity inks containing pigments that are prone to sedimentation. The instrument contains an ink reservoir chamber, a nib chamber provided with a roller ball socket assembly, a pressure equalization overflow chamber for the low viscosity ink, and a special agitation system for the ink reservoir and nib chamber. The agitation system comprises a weight, with a cross section smaller than the interior of the nib chamber, connected to a wire having a diameter smaller than the back inner diameter of the ball socket assembly. The length of the weight and its confinement are selected to provide for a predetermined stroke, on shaking the pen, that sweeps out the internal space of the nib and also the back of the roller ball assembly, to re-disperse any pigment that has precipitated.

Induction heating apparatus for a beverage can

An induction heating apparatus heats content efficiently while measuring a temperature of the heated content accurately. The induction heating apparatus includes a can holder, a heating coil disposed around the can holder, and a temperature measuring unit. A resealable metal beverage can having a thread formed on a neck portion and a cap screwed onto the neck portion is held by the can holder. The can holder holds the metal beverage can in a manner such that the cap of the can inserted thereto is exposed on an axially upper side. The temperature measuring unit measures a surface temperature of the cap of the metal beverage can held in the can holder.

Heat exchange tube

A heat exchange tube is constructed by forming, on a cylindrical tube peripheral wall, a plurality of projecting portions which project to an inside of the tube peripheral wall, and which are formed by pushing. The plurality of projecting portions are formed, respectively, into conical shapes across a tube axis, and are arranged along virtual spirals on the tube peripheral wall. Accordingly, it is possible to provide a heat exchange tube which facilitates formation of a plurality of projecting portions with the thickness hardly changed and without formation of protruded portions, and which is capable of contributing to enhancement of heat exchanging efficiency.

Method for manufacturing gallium nitride compound semiconductor element and gallium nitride compound semiconductor element

A method for obtaining a P type GaN compound semiconductor in a GaN compound semiconductor element. An N type GaN compound semiconductor layer is formed on a substrate. A GaN compound semiconductor layer to which a P type impurity is doped is formed on the N type GaN compound semiconductor layer. The GaN compound semiconductor layer to which the P type impurity is doped is irradiated with electromagnetic radiation of a predetermined wavelength to selectively agitate hydrogen bonds to dissociate H, and activate P type impurity as an acceptor.

Gas combusion-type impact device

An injection nozzle 21 for injecting a combustible gas into an annular combustion chamber 10 formed above a driving cylinder 4 is formed so as to face the interior of the combustion chamber 10, is which a rotary fan 24 for mixing a combustion gas supplied into the combustion chamber 10 and air is provided. A vortex generator 33 is formed in an upstream side of the injection nozzle 21 in an air flow formed in the combustion chamber 10 by the rotary fan. Vortexes are generated near the injection nozzle 21 in the combustion chamber 10 by the vortex generator 33, so that the mixing of the combustion gas and air is promoted.

Liquid ejecting apparatus

A liquid-feeding pump that feeds liquid, which is sucked out from a liquid container, into an ejection nozzle is provided. In addition, a circulation pump that discharges the liquid, which is sucked out from the liquid container, to the liquid container is provided. Moreover, a decompression pump, which generates a pressure for operating the liquid-feeding pump, is used as a drive source of the circulation pump. Therefore, a driving mechanism for the circulation pump need not be additionally provided. Accordingly, it is possible to simplify a configuration of a liquid ejecting apparatus while being capable of agitating the inner portion of the liquid container by using the circulation pump.

Method for controlling a thick matter pump

A method for controlling a thick matter pump comprising two delivery cylinders (10) emerging, via two openings (12), into a material reservoir (14), associated with two delivery pistons (26), symmetrically synchronized relative to said cylinders, and a branch pipe 18 arranged inside the material reservoir (14), capable of being connected, on the input side, alternatively to one of the openings of the delivery cylinders with exposing of the other opening, the output side connected to a conveyance conduit (20). When the pumping is interrupted, thick matter, liquid concrete for example, is sucked up, via the delivery cylinder temporarily communicating with the reservoir, and is delivered, via the other cylinder (10), connected to the branch pipe (18), so as to form a column of thick matter through the delivery pipe (20), towards its output. In order to avoid problems of deposit, condensation and solidification, the invention is characterized in that the thick matter column is maintained, at least temporarily, in movement, when pumping is interrupted, in the delivery pipe (20) and / or the branch pipe (18) and / or the delivery cylinders (10), while not allowing the thick matter to escape from said delivery pipe (20) on the output side. The invention is further characterized in that, when the pumping is stopped, the thick matter in the matter reservoir is maintained in movement by the back and forth oscillation of the feeding pipe (18) and / or at least one stirrer (34).

Liquid container and inkjet recording apparatus

ActiveUS20070058012A1Efficiently agitatedReducing variation in concentrationPrintingEngineeringDiaphragm valve
A recording apparatus having a diaphragm valve disposed between an ink tank and a recording head, in which closing and opening the valve produces a flow of ink. The ink tank includes two independent connection ports adjacent to one end at the bottom and a structure being configured to restrict an upward flow of ink and being located above the connection ports. Restricting the upward flow allows a small amount of ink flowing in and out to produce an entire flow of ink within the ink tank. Therefore, variations in concentration caused by precipitation of ink can be reduced.
