Surface modified overhead conductor

The present invention relates to a surface modified overhead conductor with a coating that allows the conductor to operate at lower temperatures. The coating is an inorganic, non-white coating having durable heat and wet aging characteristics. The coating preferably contains a heat radiating agent with desirable properties, and an appropriate binder / suspension agent. In a preferred embodiment, the coating has L* value of less than 80, a heat emissivity of greater than or equal to 0.5, and / or a solar absorptivity coefficient of greater than 0.3.

Power Line De-Icing Apparatus

A power line de-icing apparatus which is installed onto a power line without the need for disconnecting the power line. A temperature sensor and an ice sensor on the apparatus automatically activate the de-icing mode of operation. An internal motor and drive wheel move the apparatus along the power line in both directions, one direction at a time. Heaters and chisels on the apparatus remove any ice on the power line in one direction at a time. Power for the apparatus is generated from the electrical power carried by the power line using transformers. Proximity sensors on the apparatus detect stopping devices placed on the power line to stop the motion of the apparatus.

The invention provides an intelligent circulation anti-icing method which can be applied to two to twelve and more split lead power transmission lines to transmit current. The method can be applied to any icing tension line section of a power transmission line and can accurately judge whether the icing prevention needs to be started or not automatically according to the line icing condition to realize the automation and the intellectualization of the whole anti-icing process. The method comprises the following steps of: mounting a control device; detecting the environmental parameter and judging whether the current environment needs to start the icing prevention or not by the control device; grouping sub-leads of the split lead; and when the anti-icing operation needs to be started, sequentially converging currents of all split leads at the transmitting end of the anti-icing section on each group of sub-leads according to preset interval time by the control device. The invention increases the transmission current of the sub-leads, achieves the aim of icing prevention by joule heat and can realize the automation and the intellectualization of the local or whole anti-icing process without adding an ice thawing power supply and the icing detection on the line and damage the icing condition before the generation of ice.

Method and apparatus for breaking ice accretions on an aerial cable

A method and an apparatus for de-icing aerial cables are provided. The cable is gripped and slowly twisted for a predetermined number of turns within the elastic domain of deformation of the cable. Mechanical elastic energy is therefore accumulated in the cable. The cable is then released and untwisted under the spring back effect, releasing the energy accumulated therein which breaks and shakes off the ice accumulated on the cable.

Damping device for inhibiting windage yaw of transmission line insulators

The invention relates to a damping device for inhibiting the windage yaw of transmission line insulators, which is characterized by comprising a cylinder, a two-way piston, a spring, hinge seats, a protective sleeve, and an insulating damping medium. The two parts of the two-way piston arranged at an interval are disposed in the cylinder and in sliding fit with the cylinder. The two parts of the two-way pistons are connected by the spring arranged in the interval. The piston rod ends of the two-way piston are equipped with the hinge seats. The cylinder is filled with the insulating damping medium. The two-way piston is provided with damping holes for the insulating damping medium to circulate. The damping device is connected with an insulator and a cross arm through the hinge seats at the piston rod ends. The damping device has the advantages of simple structure, convenience of installation and maintenance, high strength, high elastic modulus, good shock absorption performance, resistance to high and low temperature, corrosion resistance, good insulation property, and long service life. When in use, the damping device is installed between the insulator and the cross arm of a transmission line. The damping device can absorb the vibration impact of strong wind to the insulator, avoid flashover of the transmission line caused by windage yaw, and ensures safe and stable operation of the transmission line.

Quadrifid insulated damping conductor spacer

The invention discloses a quadrifid insulated damping conductor spacer matched with a hot-line de-icing scheme of a transmission line, which is realized by frameworks and a line clamp main body, wherein the frameworks are made of glass fiber reinforced plastics, consist of lug boss type positioning stop blocks and are symmetrically arranged close to the inner side outside each connecting hole on the inner side of a rectangular framework, and the line clamp main body consists of a line clamp with a connecting joint. The quadrifid insulated damping conductor spacer not only can reliably separate and support a quadrifid conducting line, but also has good insulating effect so as to ensure that four conducting lines are mutually insulated, thereby creating necessary conditions for the hot-line de-icing of the transmission line, avoiding the harm brought by ice and snow disasters and increasing the bearing strength of the conductor spacer. Because of the improvement on a positioning structure, the line clamp main body and a rubber block, the centripetal force of the conductor spacer can be increased at the same time of simplifying the structure so as to ensure that a damping joint moves along the conducting line all the time and guarantee that the conducting line has damping effect and good positioning when being moved within any possible ranges. The quadrifid insulated damping conductor spacer has simple structure, easy manufacture, reliable performance, low manufacturing cost, economy, practicality and convenient mounting and is suitable for popularization and ice coating areas.
