209 results about "Spherical image" patented technology

In differential geometry, the spherical image of a unit-speed curve is given by taking the curve's tangent vectors as points, all of which must lie on the unit sphere. The movement of the spherical image describes the changes in the original curve's direction If α is a unit-speed curve, that is |α′|=1, and T is the unit tangent vector field along α, then the curve σ=T is the spherical image of α. All points of σ must lie on the unit sphere because |σ|=|T|=1.

Method for managing resource assets for emergency situations

A method for collecting, organizing, presenting, and using data relative to the scene of an emergency situation is disclosed. The method uses a Responder Assets Management System (RAMS) composed of four modules including information, logistics, operations, and planning. The information module makes general information immediately available to responders. The logistics module assists in managing equipment resources during a contingency and includes an equipment manager interface for managing equipment used to respond to an emergency situation. The operations module supports daily operations responsibilities and scales to handle significant emergencies and includes at least one of a situational awareness interface, a response options generator (ROG) interface, an operations manager interface, a messenger interface and a status board interface. The situational awareness interface is designed for emergency and crisis response managers to provide enhanced, community-wide situational awareness using full immersion, spherical images, Geographic Information System (GIS) maps, site and floor plans, and a database interface to provide virtual walk-through, pre-incident plans, for contingency planning, training visualization, and operational support. The ROG interface provides automated response and resource estimates to decision-makers in command posts and on-site in developing a response to significant, unplanned events. The operations manager interface is used by a remote headquarters to monitor an on-going operation. The messenger interface is a pre-formatted, topic oriented messaging system that supports both informational messages and messages that automatically update system data and displays. The status board interface is a situation display of key situational awareness data. The planning module assists users in planning for critical events.

Computer simulation of visual images using 2d spherical images extracted from 3D data

A system, method, and computer-readable instructions for virtual real-time computer simulation of visual images of perspective scenes. A plurality of 2D spherical images are saved as a data set including 3D positional information of the 2D spherical images corresponding to a series of locations in a 3D terrain, wherein each 2D spherical image comprises a defined volume and has an adjacency relation with adjacent 2D spherical images in 3D Euclidean space. As the input for a current virtual position changes based on simulated movement of the observer in the 3D terrain, a processor updates the current 2D spherical image to an adjacent 2D spherical image as the current virtual position crosses into the adjacent 2D spherical image.

Multiscale telescopic imaging system

A multiscale telescopic imaging system is disclosed. The system includes an objective lens, having a wide field of view, which forms an intermediate image of a scene at a substantially spherical image surface. A plurality of microcameras in a microcamera array relay image portions of the intermediate image onto their respective focal-plane arrays, while simultaneously correcting at least one localized aberration in their respective image portions. The microcameras in the microcamera array are arranged such that the fields of view of adjacent microcameras overlap enabling field points of the intermediate image to be relayed by multiple microcameras. The microcamera array and objective lens are arranged such that light from the scene can reach the objective lens while mitigating deleterious effects such as obscuration and vignetting.

Equatorial Stitching of Hemispherical Images in a Spherical Image Capture System

Hyper-hemispherical images may be combined to generate a rectangular projection of a spherical image having an equatorial stitch line along of a line of lowest distortion in the two images. First and second circular images are received representing respective hyper-hemispherical fields of view. A video processing device may project each circular image to a respective rectangular image by mapping an outer edge of the circular image to a first edge of the rectangular image and mapping a center point of the circular image to a second edge of the first rectangular image. The rectangular images may be stitched together along the edges corresponding to the outer edge of the original circular image.

The invention discloses a panorama video posture calibrating method. The method comprises the steps that a panorama video image is acquired, a spherical image is generated and displayed, initial posture information and target posture information are acquired, the target posture definite position is set, and the top point or lowest point of the panorama spherical image and the position over or under a scene are adopted as set targets to acquire posture angle information, and a deviation angle is recorded; the current posture angle is corrected through the deviation angle obtained through the real-time panorama spherical image, and displayed. When panorama image acquiring equipment is mounted and used, the mounting position and posture do not need to be considered, the equipment can be used without obstacles, no additional posture sensor is needed, economical, efficient and fast posture calibration can be achieved, the panorama image acquiring equipment mounted at different positions can carry out displaying with the correct posture view angle, and especially in the field of security and protection monitoring, the method has better visuality, the interface is more friendly, and higher practicality is achieved.
