Knee Rehabilitation exercise device

A knee rehabilitation exercise device with a right and left leg brace, a rear knee strap, an upper leg strap assembly, a lower leg strap assembly, a portable rear brace assembly and an elastic resistance band. The left and right leg brace members are each comprised of an upper member and a lower member rotatably pinned together at the area of the knee joint. The left and right leg braces are attached to the upper and lower leg strap assembly. The rear knee strap is attached to the left and right leg braces at the knee joint. When a user places the elastic band onto L hooks mounted on the upper and lower strap assembly and the rear brace assembly is placed between the rear of the user's knee and the elastic band, a resistive stretching is caused when the user straightens his leg which exercises and strengthens the user's leg muscles in the area of the knee joint.

Orthopedic device allows kneeling without contacting knee

The described Kneepad gives its wearer the advantage of being able to kneel without putting weight on the knee. This allows someone to kneel who may not otherwise be able to do so due to a knee replacement, or some other reason that disallows application of pressure to the knee. The support mechanism is composed of rugged, load-bearing materials, such as metal or plastics. Straps provide various means of adjustment for a correct fit when attached to the thigh of the wearer above the knee. The Kneepad can be quickly and easily removed and reapplied, and does not interfere with walking. An improvement over prior kneepads that placed the knee in contact with the kneeling surface, this invention does not involve such contact, since the thigh area above the knee takes all of the pressure of kneeling. With this invention many people who have not been able to kneel previously, may be able to do so. One alternate embodiment of the invention allows a wearer to lean on a sensitive elbow. Another embodiment transfers the pressure of sitting from the pelvic-gluteal region to the waist and above for wearers recovering from surgery or injury to the lower spine, colorectal or gluteal areas.

Custom-moldable support for patellar tendinitis

A knee pad assembly for relieving the symptoms of patellartendinitis, including a pad adapted for being positioned against and molded onto a lower leg in the region of the knee for lying in closely-conforming relation against and applying radially-directed pressure to the attachment site of the patellar tendon to the patella, to the knee joint, and to at least one epicondyle of the tibia. The pad is hardened into a rigid structure for therapeutic use and includes an initially flexible inner substrate impregnated or coated with a reactive system. The system remains stable when maintained in substantially moisture-free conditions and hardens upon exposure to moisture to form a rigid, self-supporting structure having a shape conforming to the lower leg to which the pad is molded during curing. A flexible cover encloses the substrate, and cooperates with the pad for maintaining the pad in its closely-conforming position against the lower leg.

The invention discloses a medicinal semicircular knee pad, and relates to a medicinal knee pad. The knee pad is designed as a double-layer bag, the inner layer is mesh, the outer layer is a sheath, a medicament filling pocket is arranged on one side of the knee pad, a medicament pad is arranged in the medicament filling pocket, an elastic lacing is arranged on each of the upper and lower parts of one side of the knee pad, and a nylon sticking hook is arranged at the end of each elastic lacing, so that the elastic lacings are stuck to the knee pad. A manufacturing method for the medicament pad comprises the following steps of: grinding 3 to 7 grams of prepared Sichuan aconite root, 3 to 7 grams of prepared kusnezoff monkshood root, 3 to 7 grams of prepared monkshood, 3 to 7 grams of cinnamon, 8 to 12 grams of cassia twig, 8 to 12 grams of ephedra, 2 to 4 grams of asarum, 3 to 7 grams of notopterygium root, 3 to 7 grams of clove, 3 to 7 grams of pericarpium zanthoxyli, 1 to 3 grams of folium artemisiae argyi, 1 to 3 grams of safflower, 8 to 12 grams of Chinese angelica, 8 to 12 grams of Szechuan lovage rhizome, 7 to 11 grams of clematis root, 8 to 12 grams of common clubmoss herb and 8 to 12 grams of garden balsam stem into powder, sieving with a sieve of 60 to 90 meshes, and filling the powder into a cloth bag made of a non-woven fabric to form a net, thus obtaining the medicament pad. The invention has the beneficial effects that the medicaments are few and precise; the knee pad is thin and warm; and a gap is reserved at the popliteal fossa of the rear side of the knee joint, so that the knee joint can stretch. Through 68 cases of clinical test, the total effective rate is 98.1 percent.

Knee-acl support breeches system and method

A system and method of knee-ACL support breeches for supporting the knees against non-contact anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries, without interfering in desired movement, by resisting anterior translation of the proximal end of the tibia, thereby reducing stress on the ACL and other knee components. A pair of calibrated-elastic bands are attached at one end to a belt about the waist and at the other end to a strap around each lower knee. The calibrated-elastic bands are incorporated into a pair of breeches or pants which hold the bands tightly against the buttocks and backs of the thighs. In use, when the knee is flexed, the resulting bulging of the hamstrings and other muscles, tendons, and ligaments place an added strain on the relevant calibrated-elastic band, thereby tightening the band and dampening and resisting anterior movement of the attached lower-knee strap, in turn dampening and resisting anterior movement of the proximal end of the tibia, thereby reducing strain on the ACL and other knee components. The knee-ACL support breeches also promote the holding of the knee in a rotationally neutral position, and larger knee-flexion-angle positions during deceleration, both of which positions reduce strain placed on the ACL.
