Abstract

The invention relates to a production method of starch-based formaldehyde-free glue, which takes starch as a main material, uses epoxy chloropropane, styrene, a potassium peroxydisulfate aqueous solution, a polyvinyl alcohol aqueous solution, sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate (SDBS), an ammonium persulfate aqueous solution, vinyl acetate, acrylamide, a borax aqueous solution, urea and tributyl phosphate as raw materials and takes a NaOH aqueous solution as a pH regulator; and the formaldehyde-free glue can be produced by four steps of: preparation of oxidized starch emulsion, activation, grafting reaction as well as complexing and cross-linking reaction, and can be used as a wood adhesive. The method is mild in reaction conditions, easy to control, high in storage stability and strong in water resistance, and does not release free formaldehyde, thus greatly improving the bonding strength of a starch adhesive.
