Coupling Assemblies With Enhanced Take Up

Coupling assemblies for releasably holding separable parts together, and in particular for releasably securing a wear member to a support structure in excavating equipment are formed so as to provide increased take up to ensure a tight fit of the wear member on the support structure even if considerable deviation between the parts exists due to wearing, manufacturing variations or the like. The coupling assemblies are suitable for securing points, adapters, shrouds, or other replaceable component to various excavating equipment. The components of the coupling assembly include a wedge and a spool that pivots about a fulcrum when the wedge is driven into assembly for increased take up capabilities. The spool is rotatably engaged around a fulcrum of the support structure and has a bearing portion that bears against and moves the wear member to be secured to thereby take up any gaps between the engaging surfaces of these members. A movable insert may be provided to improve the cooperation between the wedge and the spool to further increase the available take up.

Sensor objective

A sensor objective at the exit of a measuring branch of a measuring probe of an interferometric measuring unit for detecting the shape, roughness or distance of the surface of a measured object, the interferometric measuring unit including a modulation interferometer and the measuring probe being optically connected to the modulation interferometer via an optical fiber system and the sensor objective having a focusing element and a downstream deflection element for coupling out and coupling back in a measuring beam directed toward the surface to be measured and reflected from the latter. The deflection element includes at least two optical components, each having a shared interface, the deflection angle of the at least one beam deflected to a system longitudinal axis being settable by mutual displacement and / or rotation of the optical components during mounting. The mutual displacement and / or rotation of the optical components is / are performed at the shared interface(s). Therefore, arbitrary deflection angles for the beam may be set using a small number of optical components which are tailored to one another. Because no components have to be manufactured for specific customers, there is a significant reduction in manufacturing costs as well as significantly shortened manufacturing and therefore delivery times. Because the interfaces of the optical components are joined to one another without a wedge-shaped gap during the gluing of the components after adjustment, the disadvantageous influence of non-reproducible adhesive shrinkage is eliminated.

The control equipment includes a first transmission and a second transmission, which is different from the first transmission. The first transmission transforms a rotational movement of the drive shaft relative to the reference body into a linear motion component of the intermediate body relative to the reference body, and the control equipment has a displacement line along which the intermediate body moves via the linear motion component of the intermediate body relative to the reference body. The second transmission transforms the linear motion component of the intermediate body relative into a rotational movement of the output body relative to the reference body.

Cell cooling frames with cantilevered side seals

A modular battery pack and method of making a battery pack. Prismatic can battery cells are interspersed with cooling frames along a stacking axis within a housing such that numerous a cell-frame assemblies, each with a cooling path, are formed. Resiliently-biased sealing members on the frames are arranged such that they remain out of the way of a footprint defined by the joined cells and frames to promote ease of high-speed cell-to-frame assembly. Upon formation of the cell-frame assembly and subsequent placement into the housing with inner walls that press against the protruding ends of the sealing member, the sealing member is forced by the housing to come into contact engagement with a corresponding surface of the edge of the battery cell. The generally linear, planar contact surface formed by the contact engagement promotes the formation of a sealing surface that makes it harder for introduced cooling air to escape. By this sealing member construction, cell-frame assemblies may be produced with high-speed automated assembly techniques that may have both large manufacturing tolerances prior to assembly and substantially gap-free cell-to-cooling frame contacting surfaces after assembly.
