A rack for transporting and storing glass panels. The rack is designed to protect the panels during shipment so that they do not become damaged. The rack includes a base associated with two sets of channels in which a plurality of glass panels can be placed. Each channel has at least one gripper member associated with it. The gripper member is pivotal between a first position in which panels are locked in place in the channels and a second unlocked position in which panels can be inserted into or removed from the channels. Two sets of such channels are provided such that the rack of the present invention can be used to hold one set of longer glass panels or two separate sets of shorter glass panels.

A trailer assembly for transporting one or more vertically-oriented panels includes a frame having front and rear sections, a first set of lower crossbeams extending laterally across the front section of the frame, and a second set of lower crossbeams extending laterally across the rear section of the frame. The crossbeams provide vertical support for the panel(s). A hitch extending from the front section of the frame is attachable to a towing vehicle. A set of front vertical members extend upwardly from either the hitch or the frame. A set of front crossbeams extend laterally between the front vertical members and a set of rear crossbeams extend laterally between the rear vertical members. The front and rear crossbeams impede longitudinal movement of the panel(s). A set of wheels axially mounted on struts extend laterally from oppositely facing sides of the rear section of the frame. In one embodiment, one of the front and rear sections is capable of telescoping within the other section to vary the frame length.

A glass slat rack is provided. The glass slat rack secures glass panels within slots. The glass slat rack includes a base frame, a vertical slat rack and a pivoting slat rack. The vertical slat rack is attached to the base frame and extends substantially perpendicular from the base frame. The vertical slat rack may include a plurality of slats substantially parallel to one another and running vertically, from the bottom end to the top end of the vertical slat rack. The pivoting slat rack is pivotally mounted to the glass slat rack. In certain embodiments, the pivoting slat rack is pivotally connected to the base frame. The pivoting slat rack also includes a plurality of slats 16 forming slots in between. The slots of the pivoting slat rack align with the slots of the vertical slat rack, and thereby secure the glass panels within.

A glass slat rack is provided. The glass slat rack secures glass panels within slots. The glass slat rack includes a base frame, a vertical slat rack and a pivoting slat rack. The vertical slat rack is attached to the base frame and extends substantially perpendicular from the base frame. The vertical slat rack may include a plurality of slats substantially parallel to one another and running vertically, from the bottom end to the top end of the vertical slat rack. The pivoting slat rack is pivotally mounted to the glass slat rack. In certain embodiments, the pivoting slat rack is pivotally connected to the base frame. The pivoting slat rack also includes a plurality of slats 16 forming slots in between. The slots of the pivoting slat rack align with the slots of the vertical slat rack, and thereby secure the glass panels within.

A pair of opposed A-frames are positioned uprightly on a flat bed chassis. A downwardly descending side leg on each side of each A-frame rests on an axially mounted beam. The beam is attached to the underside of the flat bed chassis and extends outwardly from a side surface of the flat bed trailer and is angled upwardly to support a bottom edge of a building material slab or sheet.

A panel support and panel processing system that provides a single frame assembly for use on a panel processing line in transporting and installing panels, such as glass panels, the frame assembly having a frame with at least one hook that engages a carrier on a processing line to move the frame from one station to the next, and that enables lifting and stacking of multiple frames for transport to and installation at a building site without having to remove the panel, such as a glass panel, from the frame, at which point the frame and panel assembly are secured in situ.

A material supporting ledge is configured to be attached to a horizontal rail support. The ledge has a support bracket with a central section with dual arm members for securing the ledge onto a horizontal rail or an arm extension member which is inserted into one of the openings in an e-track rail. The bracket also has two downwardly extending framing elements connected to two platform elements on which support blocks are positioned. The ledge can be secured onto the rail and is quickly mountable to and removeable from the rail without the use of tools. Upon the placement of the ledge on the rail, the ledge is securely maintained in position against rail. Material, including glass plates of varying sizes, can be placed on the ledge, over larger glass plates already being carried in the system.

A clamp is provided. The clamp comprises a frame and a movable structure. The movable structure is detachably connected with the frame to define a receiving space for receiving at least one substrate. After sliding along a surface of the frame to a suitable position, the movable structure is adapted to be fastened together with the frame to fix the at least one substrate in the receiving space.

A trailer for carrying plate glass has an elongated deck and an elongated rigid beam that extends above the deck. The beam supports plate glass transported by the trailer. The deck and the beam may be made from aluminum.

A drop-deck trailer for hauling heavy loads (e.g., jumbo glass panes) positioned on each side of the drop-deck and which minimizes trailer twisting / leaning is provided. The drop deck includes a plurality of transversely-mounted A-frames that are coupled through an anti-torsion structure (ATS) to each other and to at least two trailer main beams at an elevated front deck and at a rear portion of the drop-deck for transferring the load from each side of the trailer and into the at least two main beams. The ATS includes tie bars for connecting the tops of the A-frames together, a front support for connecting the forward-most A-frame to the main beams and an end support for connecting the rear-most A-frame to the main beams. The ATS minimizes twisting / leaning of the trailer without adding any significant weight to the trailer itself. This permits the transport of increased payload on the trailer, including a continuous tarp for covering the payload during transport.
