63 results about "Wheelie" patented technology

In vehicle acrobatics, a wheelie, or wheelstand, is a vehicle maneuver in which the front wheel or wheels come off the ground due to sufficient torque being applied to the rear wheel or wheels, or rider motion relative to the vehicle. Wheelies are usually associated with bicycles and motorcycles, but can be done with other vehicles such as cars, especially in drag racing and tractor pulling.

Control System in Vehicle, Wheelie Determining Method, and Driving Power Suppressing Method

A control system in a vehicle including a front wheel which is a driven wheel and a rear wheel which is a drive wheel, the control system including: a control unit configured to control a driving power generated in a driving source according to a driving state of the vehicle; and a front wheel speed sensor configured to detect a rotational speed of the front wheel; the control unit including: a wheelie determiner configured to determine whether or not a predetermined wheelie starting condition is met, based on a value detected by the front wheel speed sensor; and a driving power controller configured to suppress the driving power if the wheelie determiner determines that the predetermined wheelie starting condition is met.

Torque control apparatus

To suppress occurrence of a wheelie of a motorcycle.A torque control apparatus includes a the detection unit that detects a state in which the front wheel of the motorcycle is likely to be lifted up based on at least one of engine information of the motorcycle, accelerator operation information of the driver of the motorcycle, and information of the vehicle body or wheel of the motorcycle. The torque control apparatus further includes an output unit that, when the detection unit detects the state in which the front wheel is likely to be lifted up, outputs a torque smaller than a request torque of the driver as a request torque for an the engine of the motorcycle or outputs the difference between the request torque of the driver and a torque smaller than the request torque of the driver as a brake torque.

Waste Bin

The present invention is directed to a wheelie bin that has a foot pedal to open the lid thereby allowing a person to place their waste within the bin without touching the lid. The position of the foot pedal and pivotal linkages are mounted to the bin in a non-obstuctive manner.

Radio control two-wheel vehicle toy

A radio control toy vehicle having a two-wheel vehicle body includes a turnably mounted front fork to which a steering section is operatively connected, a front wheel mounted on the front fork through a front wheel shock absorber, a drive case on which a rear wheel mounted on a rear side of the vehicle body is mounted, a wheelie mechanism for shifting the vehicle body to a running state in which the vehicle body runs using the rear wheel while elevating the front wheel above the ground by temporarily pulling up the front wheel against springs provided on the front fork and then, by releasing the pulling up motion and applying a pushing down force to the front wheel by a restoring force of the springs, and a receiver for receiving a control signal from a transmitter and producing a running control signal.

Wheelie suppressing device

A wheelie suppressing device comprises a wheelie determiner section which detects a wheelie state; and a wheelie suppressing section which performs a wheelie suppressing control for suppressing an engine output when the wheelie determiner section has detected the wheelie state, wherein the wheelie suppressing control includes a first suppressing control for suppressing the engine output while performing fuel feeding and an ignition operation, and a second suppressing control for suppressing the engine output by performing the fuel feeding or the ignition operation at a reduced rate.

In-line wheeled board device

A wheeled board device with forward and rearward in-line wheel structures attached to a user platform. The forward wheel may have a forward tilt axle or be otherwise direction-biased to permit lean-based turning. The rear wheel may be singular or comprise two tires or the like and be motorized or not. The wheels are preferably large to more readily handle surface irregularities. A self-balancing wheelie mode is disclosed in one embodiment. Other embodiments include placement of the forward tilt axle within or without the envelope of the front wheel. The user platform is below the top of the rear wheel and preferably near the axis of the rear wheel, among other features.

An output control system incorporated in a vehicle including a clutch device comprises an upper limit setting section which sets an upper limit value of an output of the drive source to a starting control upper limit value when the output control system is performing a starting control; and a wheelie determiner section which determines whether or not a wheelie is occurring in the vehicle when the output control system is performing the starting control, wherein when the wheelie determiner section determines that the wheelie is occurring, the output control system performs a wheelie suppressing control for suppressing the output of the drive source while maintaining the starting control in such a manner that the output becomes less when the wheelie determiner section determines that the wheelie is occurring than before the wheelie determiner section determines that the wheelie is occurring.
