Provided are immediate or prolonged administration of certain potassium ATP (K_ATP) channel openers to a subject to achieve novel pharmacodynamic, pharmacokinetic, therapeutic, physiological, metabolic and compositional outcomes in the treatment of diseases or conditions involving K_ATP channels. Also provided are pharmaceutical formulations, methods of administration and dosing of K_ATP channel openers that achieve these outcomes and reduce the incidence of adverse effects in treated individuals. Further provided are method of co-administering K_ATP channel openers with other drugs to treat diseases of humans and animals.

After methyleneblue is added to incubate, the relaxation function of the HEF-05 can be enhanced; and after the HEF-05 is added to incubate, the dose-response curve of the calcium chloride is descended. Therefore, the HEF-05 can be used for preparing a preparation for relaxing the smooth muscle of the blood vessel and can be used as the potassium channel opener, the calcium channel blocker and the endothelium relaxing factor releasing agent.
