39 results about "Closet flange" patented technology

In plumbing, a closet flange (also known as a toilet flange) is a pipe fitting (specifically, a type of flange) that both mounts a toilet to the floor and connects the toilet drain to a drain pipe. The name comes from the term "water closet", the traditional name for a toilet. A typical closet flange is composed of an ABS or PVC hub with a round steel mounting flange attached to the top. Other styles are made from copper, brass, stainless steel, or pure plastic.

Water closet flange hub assembly

A water closet flange hub assembly for use with a floor. The assembly includes an annular base having a central through opening and which is mounted to the floor. A water closet hub includes a tubular and cylindrical pipe which is dimensioned to be slidably and adjustably positioned within the base opening. The hub also includes an outwardly extending toilet mounting flange at one end of the pipe. A fluid seal is disposed between the pipe of the water closet hub and the annular base to fluidly seal the base and hub together at an adjusted position of the water closet hub. The water closet hub is then secured to the floor by fasteners.

Closet flange with knockout retainer

A closet flange is provided for coupling the base of a toilet to a drain pipe. A main generally cylindrical body portion is dimensioned for connection to the upper end of a drain pipe and has a through bore for communicating with the interior of the drain pipe. An attachment flange portion extends radially outward from an upper end of the cylindrical body portion and is configured for connecting to the base of a toilet. A knockout temporarily seals the through bore and is removable by breaking away a peripheral edge of the knockout. A retainer extends radially inward from an inner wall of the cylindrical portion below the knockout and is configured to prevent the knockout from falling down the through bore and into the drain pipe when broken away in order to prevent drain clogging.

Closet flange system for existing installation

A system is provided herein which includes a closet flange insert and at least one spacer to be positioned between the closet flange insert and an installed closet flange. The closet flange insert includes a toilet connecting flange which extends radially outwardly from a through pipe. The through pipe is sized to be inserted into a pipe section of a closet flange. Each spacer includes spaced apart first and second faces, and spaced apart inner and outer edges extending between the first and second faces. The inner edge defines an opening extending through the body, the opening sized to permit passage therethrough of the through pipe of the closet flange insert but not the toilet connecting flange of the closet flange insert. Advantageously, with the subject invention, a system is provided which allows the closet flange insert to be mounted atop an installed closet flange, with one or more spacers therebetween, and with the closet flange insert being flush with surrounding finished flooring.

Water Closet Flange Seal

An improved method of installing a closet flange allows installation of plumbing fixtures with a reduced likelihood of leaks. The method involves telescopically fitting an inner or outer surface of a drainpipe to a surface of a cylindrical portion of a hub of a closet flange, where the hub has a base flange extending therefrom; and securing the base flange against the upper surface of a subfloor. A first layer of sealant is applied to an upper surface of the base flange; and a flooring membrane is secured to the upper surface of the base flange by the first layer of sealant. A second layer of sealant is applied to an upper surface of the flooring membrane; and the upper surface of the flooring membrane is clamped between the base flange and a clamping ring. The method may be performed using a two-part closet flange for connection to a drain pipe for a toilet. The two-part closet flange comprises a cylindrical hub adapted to telescopically connect to the drain pipe; an annular flange radially extending from the cylindrical hub; a clamping ring; and a means to clamp a flooring membrane between the clamping ring and the annular flange.

Breakaway closure member with offset nipple

A breakaway closure member for removably covering an opening in a plumbing device, such as a laundry box, pressure test cap, floor drain, shower drain, closet flange, or the like includes a circular disc with a peripheral rim and a hollow nipple extending outwardly from the circular disc. The peripheral rim is connected to the plumbing device by a thin web or area of reduced thickness. The nipple is radially outwardly offset from the center of the disc so as to be generally adjacent or tangent to the peripheral rim. If the nipple is radially compressed, such as by squeezing with a pair of pliers, the peripheral rim is pulled radially inward in an area proximate the nipple, thereby creating a crack in the area of reduced thickness.

Self adjusting toilet bolt assembly for connecting a toilet bowl to a closet flange

A self adjusting toilet bolt assembly provides an anchor member for connecting a toilet bowl to a closet flange which allows use of downward 5 / 16″ stud travel through a standard width dimension slotted opening in the closet flange incident making connection of a toilet bowl to the closet flange. This result is made possible by use of apertures in an anchor member body lower body portion extending between two lower body portion wall parts providing clearance for the stud to pass unobstructedly in the flange slotted opening.

Toilet base gasket

The toilet base gasket includes a beveled base ring and a replacement flange. The beveled base ring comes with a removable cover and both of which are placed in an existing closet flange prior to installation of the toilet. The replacement flange is a non-wax flange that has a plurality of cotter pins that are circumferentially aligned near an outer edge and of which apply a separating force against a bottom sealing surface of the toilet, and thereby creating a watertight seal between the toilet and the replacement flange as well as between the replacement flange and the beveled base ring.

Flexible Sleeve for Connection to a Plumbing Fixture

Disclosed herein is an improved water closet flange for connection to a plumbing fixture. The improved flange comprises an anchoring element or outer flange, connected to a flexible conduit tube or flexible sleeve, in which is attached an O-ring type of gasket. The improved flange connects a toilet bowl outlet to a waste drainpipe outlet without any flow reduction in between both connecting elements. The improved flange allows the connection between a toilet bowl discharge and a well placed vertical waste drainpipe. The improved flange also allows the connection between a toilet bowl discharge and a waste drainpipe outlet that is offset, horizontally oriented, or diagonally placed. The improved flange may further comprise an O-ring type of gasket disposed on the exterior of the flexible sleeve to provide a tight seal between the outer surface of the flexible sleeve and the inner surface of a waste drainpipe. The flexible sleeve can be implemented in a variety of sizes or diameters, including, for example, 3 inch (7.5 cm) and 4 inch (10 cm) diameters. An alternative embodiment of the flexible sleeve can fit either 3 inch or 4 inch drainpipes with the help of an appropriate O-ring seal of the appropriate dimensions.

U-shaped closet flange

The U-shaped closet flange is an auxiliary closet flange for use with a toilet that is seated onto an existing closet flange. The U-shaped closet flange fits around the rear base of a toilet from above the floor surface, and which improves the overall stability of the toilet by encircling the rear base of the toilet as well as across tops of opposing side lips of said base of said toilet. The U-shaped closet flange includes two generally parallel members that include grooves thereon to accommodate varying locales of bolts and bolt holes that extend up through the base of the toilet. The parallel members each include parallel base members that engage the floor surface, and interconnect with a cross member. Holes provided on the U-shaped closet flange enable screws to secure both the U-shaped closet flange and toilet in place to the surrounding floor.
