The Al-Mg-Ca-Fe alloy consists of Si 0-1 wt%, Al 20- 50 wt%, Mg 1-6 wt%, Ca 1-6 wt% and Fe and inevitable impurity for the rest. The preparation process includes the following steps: 1. weighing material including industrial aluminum ingot containing 95-98 wt% Al in 26-56 wt%, metal magnesium containing 90-98 wt% Mg in 2-10 wt%, calcium powder containing 75-90 wt% Ca in 2-10 wt%, and waste steel in 40-50 wt%; and 2. smelting with the said materials.
