Problems solved by technology

[0003] However, these dispersing agents have problems in that the initial viscosity of the inorganic pigment slurry obtained with these dispersing agents is low, and the special effect stability of the viscosity of the inorganic pigment slurry cannot meet the requirements, for example, making 75% (weight) When the calcium carbonate slurry is used, the initial viscosity is high, and the viscosity increases significantly as time goes by
Another problem is that it is extremely difficult to obtain high-concentration and fine particles when wet-grinding calcium carbonate and the like.

Embodiment 1

[0078] Put 420 parts of isopropanol and 120 parts of water into a pressure-resistant reaction vessel, replace it with nitrogen, seal it, and raise the temperature to 100°C. Under stirring, at the same temperature, mix a homogeneous mixture of 305 parts of acrylic acid, 5 parts of triethylene glycol dithiol, 1 part of ascorbic acid, 50 parts of isopropanol and 50 parts of water, and 50 parts of 5% aqueous hydrogen peroxide , taking 3.5 hours to drip from their respective containers. After the dropwise addition was terminated, 3 parts of 35% hydrogen peroxide aqueous solution was added, and the temperature was kept at the same temperature for 1 hour to obtain a polymer (a) with a polymerization rate of 99.9%. The weight-average molecular weight measured by GPC is 11500, the maximum peak molecular weight (M) is 10 000, and the low molecular weight polymer content (M×0.2=2000, area % of molecular weight less than 2000 in GPC) is 0.7%. After neutralizing with 339 parts of a 30% aq...

Embodiment 2、3、4

[0080] Except that the neutralization salt and the degree of neutralization of the polymer (a) used were replaced with those recorded in Table 1, the rest were operated in the same manner as in Example 1 to obtain a polyacrylate salt solution.

Embodiment 5

[0082] 420 parts of isopropanol and 120 parts of water were placed in a pressure-resistant reaction vessel, and after replacing with nitrogen, it was sealed and heated to 100°C. Under stirring, 305 parts of acrylic acid and 80 parts of a 4% aqueous solution of sodium persulfate were dropped from respective containers over 3 hours. After the dropwise addition was terminated, 3 parts of 35% hydrogen peroxide aqueous solution was added, and the temperature was kept at the same temperature for 1 hour to obtain a polymer (b) with a polymerization rate of 99.8%. Its weight-average molecular weight measured by GPC is 9200, the maximum peak molecular weight (M) is 9000, and the low-molecular-weight polymer content (M×0.2=1800, the area percent of molecular weight in GPC less than 1800) is 3.6%. Neutralize with 395 parts of a 30% aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide, 12.8 parts of adducts of 2 moles of propylene oxide of dodecylamine, and distill off isopropanol to obtain polyacrylic a...

Abstract

The present invention relates to a pigment dispersant composed of a neutralized product of a polymer (A) with α, β-unsaturated carboxylic acid as a structural unit. The acid radical in the polymer (A) is 10-99.99% (mol) as Alkali metal salts or alkaline earth metal salts, 0.01 to 5% (mol) of organic amine salts, 0 to 89.99% (mol) of free acid radicals; and for coated paper composed of the above dispersant, water and inorganic pigments pigment dispersion composition. The dispersant of the present invention enables the production of a dispersant for pigments having a lower viscosity than conventional dispersants and excellent aging stability. The dispersant of the present invention is particularly suitable as a dispersant for inorganic pigments. In addition, the dispersant of the present invention is also suitable as a dispersant of a dispersion composition for coated paper.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a dispersant for pigments, and particularly to a dispersant useful as an inorganic pigment and a pigment dispersion composition for coated paper. Background technique [0002] In the prior art, known materials as dispersants include alkali metal salts of polyacrylic acid (sodium, lithium salts, etc.), alkaline earth metal salts, quaternary ammonium salts, etc. (for example, Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 54-82416, Japanese Patent Laying-Open No. 7-308563, etc.). [0003] However, these dispersing agents have problems in that the initial viscosity of the inorganic pigment slurry obtained with these dispersing agents is low, and the special effect stability of the viscosity of the inorganic pigment slurry cannot meet the requirements, for example, making 75% (weight) When the calcium carbonate slurry is used, the initial viscosity is high, and the viscosity increases significantly as time goes by. Another p...
