Exercise device providing variable lift assistance during pull-up and push-up exercises

An exemplary exercise device descending from an elevated support (e.g., a bar or door frame) allows a user to insert a body part in a loop (e.g., a foot for pull-ups or a waist for push-ups) descending from an elastic resistance unit, which uses a variable number of stretchable elastic members between top and bottom connectors to reduce the effective weight the user has to pull / push up. Each of the resistance unit top and bottom connectors has several elastic member sockets, each socket having a socket passage extending through the connector. Each elastic member has an elongated portion between two member plugs sized to resist passing through the elastic member socket passages. Elastic members can be removably and replaceably installed by inserting a portion of each member plug within an elastic member socket, one member plug in each of the resistance unit top and bottom connectors.

Boatlift buoyancy system

A boatlift buoyancy system for assisting in maneuvering a boatlift while in the water by adding buoyancy to the boatlift. The boatlift buoyancy system includes a first tube and a second tube attachable to the horizontal support beams of a boatlift that are capable of receiving of volume of air and / or water. A first hose and a second hose are fluidly connected to the first tube and second tube respectively for delivering pressurized air when buoyancy is desired for the boatlift. The first tube and the second tube also have a first aperture and a second aperture respectively within lower portions thereof for allowing for the draining of water when pressurized air is input into the tubes.

Compressed air vehicle having enhanced performance through use of magnus effect

The efficiency of compressed air vehicle is enhanced by adapting the compressed air storage tank with a Magnus rotor that creates lift so as to reduce the effective weight of the tank during operation. A compressed air tank has an outlet in fluid communication with the inlet of a compressed air motor. Air leaving the compressed air motor is caused to flow across the Magnus rotor whereby lift is generated to counter gravitational force thereby reducing the effective weight of the system. A battery powered electric fan has an inlet disposed to draw air across the Magnus rotor thereby increasing the velocity of the air so as to maximize the Magnus effect. A thermoelectric cooler transfers heat across the compressed air motor, i.e. from air exiting the compressed air motor outlet, to the air entering the compressed air motor inlet, whereby the temperature of the air entering the compressed air motor is increased resulting in increased pressure. Conversely, transferring heat from the air exiting the compressed air motor and prior to flowing across the Magnus rotor, increases the density of the air flowing across the Magnus rotor so as to maximize the efficiency of the Magnus effect. Finally, the fan has an output in fluid communication with the input of a compressor, which re-compresses the air and delivers the re-compressed air to the storage tank.

Tailgate lift assembly

A tailgate lifting assembly. The assembly comprises two components housed in separate enclosures. A first component includes a pair of vertically arranged pulleys and is secured proximate a top edge of the tailgate. A second component is laterally disposed adjacent a side edge of the vehicle, which in the case of a trailer or pickup is a sidewall of the bed. A cable is threaded over the pulleys, which are secured in journaled relation to an interior wall of the housing for the first component. The second component has an interior void through which the cable is threaded, the cable being secured to a spring loaded attachment, the opposing sd secured to the top edge of the tailgate. The two enclosures may be removably mounted to allow for easy transfer to another vehicle.

Method and apparatus for a down hole blow out preventer

The invention is a method and apparatus, automatic down hole blow out preventer wherein external elastomer rings are placed on the exterior of a grooved section of drill pipe. Below the external elastomer rings is an external pressure deflector ring, which is designed to be lifted up in a kick. When a kick occurs, the increased pressure will force the external pressure deflector ring up, causing the external elastomer rings to flip up and out as to inhibit or block the further flow of fluid up the annulus.
