Mounting assembly for traffic cameras and other traffic control devices

A mounting assembly for supporting a traffic camera or other traffic control device high above traffic. The assembly includes a conventional camera bracket, a vertical pole of at least two inches in diameter, an adapter for attaching the camera bracket to the top of the pole, and a mounting bracket for attaching the pole to the mast arm or other support. The bracket includes an adapter plate by which the pole can be rotated relative to the support so the camera can be mounted on either a vertical or a horizontal support structure. The bracket also includes a clamp that attaches to the support structure by a three point attachment. This versatile mounting assembly can support a traffic control device 10-15 feet above the mast arm or other support, without significant movement of the pole relative to the bracket or of the bracket relative to the support.

Flexible display with display support

A display system includes a continuous flexible display, two main display supports each structurally configured to support a respective portion of the flexible display, a segment of the flexible display being located between the said respective display portions. The two main display supports are hingeable between a closed configuration for fixing the flexible display in a storage position and an open configuration for fixing the flexible display in an open position. In the storage position between the main display supports there is a free space enabling a partial curvature of said display segment without conflicting with the respective main display support. At least one additional display support is configured to support said segment of the flexible display in the storage position and facilitates the curvature of the display segment with a predefined radius which is larger than the critical radius Rcrit for the flexible display.

Threshold access based upon stored credentials

A method and apparatus for authorizing an access requester to access a data communication network is provided. A determination is made that a threshold access control server cannot process an access request associated with the access requester. Access requester history data, or data that describes the access history for an access requester, is analyzed to obtain a threshold access level. A threshold access level is an expression of how likely that a particular access requester is a legitimate access requester. A session profile is selected for the access requester based on the threshold access level. The session profile indicates one or more actions the access requester is authorized to perform in the network. The session profile may subsequently be transmitted to the access requester to allow the access requester access to the network to the extent appropriate in view of the access requester history data.

Low cost radio frequency identification (RFID) dispensing systems

A radio frequency identification (RFID) dispenser that includes low cost electronic components that can read and write to the tag of a refill cartridge. In one embodiment, the reader utilizes a multi band pass filter to convert the radio frequency identification into a digital signal that is processed by a controller to perform a dispensing function representative to the code of the tag. In another embodiment, the controller utilizes an internal comparator to convert the radio frequency identification into a digital signal that is processed by a controller to perform a dispensing function representative to the code of the tag. The dispenser in both embodiments also includes a pair of transistors that write to the RFID tag of the refill cartridge. A dispenser according to the invention also includes the capability to read and / or write to tags upon cartridges employed by the dispenser, and augmenting the operation of the dispenser as a function thereof. Additionally, a dispenser of variable size is presented that is adaptable, through adjustable partitions or a telescoping cup, to receive and maintain cartridges of various sizes.

Magnetically Attachable and Detachable Panel Method

A method for a panel having a magnetic mounting that utilizes a plurality of magnets in a magnet structure that allows high magnetic force when the panel is installed and the magnet structure is aligned while permitting removal using relatively light force applied to misalign the magnet structure to allow removal. In one embodiment, the magnet structure can provide precision positioning of the panel to a position on the order of the width of a single component magnet of the magnet structure. In another embodiment, the magnet structure may be misaligned for removal by a rotation of the magnet structure. In a further embodiment, the misalignment may be achieved by a lateral shift of the magnet structure. The invention may be adapted to a wide variety of panels including but not limited to doors, window coverings, storm coverings, seasonal covering panels, baby gates, white boards, and green house panels.
