588 results about "Casement window" patented technology

A casement is a window that is attached to its frame by one or more hinges at the side. They are used singly or in pairs within a common frame, in which case they are hinged on the outside. Casement windows are often held open using a casement stay. Windows hinged at the top are referred to as awning windows, and ones hinged at the bottom are called hoppers.

Orientation slide-support for casement window

The present invention discloses a casement window positioning slide brace, which is mainly characterized in that: sliders are divided into a static slider (9) and a movable slider (5). The movable slider and the static slider can attract each other during mutual contact; the other end of a short strut (3) is hinged on the movable slider; the other end of a middle strut (2) is hinged on the movable slider. The present invention solves the problem that: after a casement window is opened, as the window has gravity and window sashes are blown by the wind with intensity, the sliders of the casement window automatically slide down to close the window. Due to the fit of the static slider and the movable slider of the present invention, after the casement window is opened, the casement window is fixed on some position; the wind with common intensity cannot cause the sliders to slide, and only the action with certain external force can allow the movable slider to be separated from the static slider, so as to achieve the objective of closing the window or changing angles.

Casement Window Lock

A locking mechanism for a casement window assembly includes a housing adapted to be mounted on the window assembly, an actuator operably connected to the housing and pivotable about a fulcrum, and a linkage member having a first channel and a second channel. The housing has an elongated opening having opposed ends. The actuator includes an actuator body having a first pin and a second pin located thereon. The linkage member is connected to the actuator such that the first pin is received in the first channel and the second pin is received in the second channel. Pivoting the actuator about the fulcrum causes the first pin to move within the first channel and the second pin to move within the second channel, moving the linkage member along the opening, from one end of the opening to the other end of the opening.

Casement and awning window opening limit device

A device to limit an opening of a window having a hinged sash coupled to a window frame including a window opening limiting structure having a first member and a second member. One of them is securable to the sash and the other of the first member and the second member being securable to the frame. A selectively releasable coupler by which the first member and the second member are couplable is shiftable between a coupled status and a released status. The first member and the second member bridge a preselected distance such that the sash is inhibited from opening beyond a predetermined distance. The coupler is releasable so that the sash can be opened beyond the predetermined distance and re-engages automatically when the sash is closed.

Locking System for Windows and Doors

A lock system for casement windows is disclosed which includes a tie bar slidably secured to the flame. The tie bat is secured to a lock handle that is also secured to the flame. The tie bat eliminates the need for rollers riveted to the tie bar by having a first bent section disposed between straight sections and a second bent section disposed between straight sections. All of the straight sections are linearly aligned with one another and at least some of the straight sections of the tie bar are slidably mounted to the flame using conventional guides. The lock system also includes first and second strikers mounted to the sash. The first striker comprising a first ramp that receives a first bent section and the second striker comprising a second ramp that receives a second bent section when the tie bat is slidably moved towards the first and second strikers as the tie bar is moved from an unlocked position to a locked position. Movement of the first and second bent sections along the first and second ramps respectively as the tie bar moves towards the locked position results in the sash and frame being pulled together. A third bent section may be included towards the middle of the tie bar and used to couple the tie bar to the lock handle or actuator.

Around-the-corner multi-point window lock mechanism for casement and awning windows

An around-the-corner locking mechanism is mounted using known tie-bar guides so as to cause a self-locating feature for the device on a casement or awning window. The device has an adjustable connecting link so that standard lock system tie bars can be used at industry standard spacings, while also being adaptable to custom sized windows. The mechanism, through an around-the-corner component, has tie bars integrated directly into the around-the-corner component so as to provide a locking point on a casement window jamb at a nearly constant distance from the head or sill of the window, and another linked locking point on the head or sill itself. The tie bars in the around-the-corner component can be linked through an adjustable length linking component to a driving tie bar and slave tie bars to provide still more locking points.
