Abstract

Disclosed is a production method of anticorrosion steel products. Products are manufactured by hot rolling a billet consisting of a stainless steel shell and a mass of mild steel shavings enclosed within the shell. The two reducing agents are added while the billet is heating. The first reducing agent is aluminum powder, titanium shavings or other metals. Their affinity with oxygen is greater than that of chromium and oxygen, which can promote the formation of carbon monoxide instead of carbon dioxide from the air and oxygen entering the billet at about 800 degrees Celsius. The second reducing agent is provided by adding substances such as ammonium chloride or urea to the chips, which will decompose and generate reducing gases when heated. Alternatively, the billet can be heated in a reduction furnace, and the furnace gas can act as a second reducing agent.
