The manganese dioxide composite material can be used for a reaction for preparing formaldehyde through methanol oxidation, and the methanol conversion rate and the formaldehyde yield are greatly improved. Preparation of formaldehyde by methanol oxidation belongs to dehydrooxidation, so that the key of promoting the reaction is how to promote hydrogen removal.
