[0029] The present invention relates to an in vitro method for preparing a blood sample, wherein the blood is combined with: a) at least one anticoagulant for determining BG and BMP parameters; and b) at least one antiplatelet agent. The inventors have surprisingly found that blood samples prepared according to the inventive method are suitable for BG and BMP parameter analysis as well as platelet count. Thus, an advantage of the inventive method of the present invention is that it allows "3 in 1" analysis with one blood sample. In a preferred embodiment, said blood sample is also suitable for WBC counting. Therefore, blood samples obtained by the inventive method are preferably suitable for analysis of BG and BMP parameters and complete blood count (CBC).
