Abstract

A formaldehyde-free bean pulp protein adhesive and a preparing method thereof are disclosed. The adhesive includes bean pulp powder, trypsin, bean chitinase, a dispersion medium that is water, sodiumperiodate, triethylenetetramine, glycerol triglycidyl ether and a curing agent. According to the adhesive prepared by the method, molecules of bean pulp are degraded and then modified and recombined into prepolymer so that protein is fully extended, molecular activated groups are obviously increased, and reaction activity, solubility, a water-retaining property and toughness are improved; the elastomer-based curing agent is added to allow the prepared adhesive to have high toughness, good water-proof adhesion performance and high stability; a waterproof requirement on artificial board adhesives can be met; the dosage of a crosslinking agent is reduced so that the cost of the adhesive is reduced; and practical properties of the protein adhesive are ensured.
