The method comprises: performing algorithm emulation by Matlab in view of the particularity of blood cell images, and performing cell recognition and counting; extracting cell characteristic parameters through morphological methods, and using the characteristic parameters as input parameters of BP neural network to perform cell recognition and finally perform cell counting; correcting the cell counting by using a colorimetric method to improve the accuracy of cell counting ; and realizing the recognition and automatic counting of cells with good accuracy and high efficiency by using a median filtering algorithm, a gray histogram algorithm, a threshold processing algorithm, and a corrosion and expansion algorithm.
