Problems solved by technology

Studies have shown that a single gene / protein itself has limited influence on complex quantitative traits, and often needs to perform functions through high-order cell organization forms. The expression levels of many functionally related genes are not related. Mining genetic loci that control phenotypic traits, and These genetic loci are relatively independent, and the regulatory relationship between them is unknown, and the traditional analysis method requires years of multi-point phenotypic identification, which is time-consuming and laborious

Embodiment 1

[0029] A method for predicting the function of unknown maize genes based on dynamic correlation analysis according to the present invention mainly includes three steps: collection of gene expression data, LA significance evaluation and genome-wide LA analysis.

[0030] (1) Collection of gene expression data:

[0031] 368 inbred lines (maize varieties used in the present invention can be any variety, including 35 high-oil maize inbred lines cultivated by Professor Song Tongming of China Agricultural University (Yang et al., 2010b)) were planted in Jingzhou, Hubei in 2010, according to The pedigree information was divided into 2 groups (tropical, subtropical, and temperate). In the group, a completely random block method was used, and 2 replicates were set up. Each inbred line was planted with 1 row for each replicate. All materials were self-crossed, immature grains 15 days after pollination (15 DAP) were harvested, 3-4 ears were taken from two replicates of each inbred line, 1...

Abstract

The invention belongs to the field of plant molecular biotechnology and gene engineering and particularly relates to a method for predicting functions of unknown genes of maize based on dynamic correlation between gene expression level and characters. The method comprises the following steps: firstly collecting grain transcripts obtained after pollinating maize inbred lines for 15 days, and sequencing to obtain gene expression level data; building a dynamic correlation analysis LA model; evaluating significance of LA; excavating dynamic correlation of gene expression patterns of whole genomes of the maize; and carrying out function annotation of genes of significant LA results and predicting functions of the genes. The method is capable of predicting the functions of the unknown genes by taking the phenomenon of dynamic correlation between co-expression patterns of gene pairs in the maize grains as sally port; compared with the conventional co-expression network construction, the dynamic correlation analysis is capable of rapidly finding regulation genes for regulating the co-expression patterns.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention belongs to the fields of plant molecular biotechnology and genetic engineering, and in particular relates to a method for predicting unknown gene functions of maize based on the dynamic correlation between gene expression and traits. Background technique [0002] Corn is one of the three major crops in the world. Since the 1990s, the world's total corn production surpassed rice and wheat for the first time, becoming the first food crop. A large amount of storage material including starch, oil and protein accumulates in the corn kernel. With the improvement of people's living standards and changes in dietary structure, as well as the development of starch and oil processing industries, corn varieties have gradually changed from yield-oriented to quality-oriented, and the quality and specificity of corn have become more and more important. [0003] Complex traits are regulated by multiple gene loci, and the interaction between genes forms ...
