The data streams in the mobile ad hoc network are divided into the data stream which is sensitive to the time delay and the data stream which is not sensitive to the time delay and the two kinds of data streams are marked respectively; an MAC layer packet retransmission counter is adopted in the process of sending and forwarding nodes; the retransmission times of data packets are saved on the head of the MAC frame of the data packets which need to be sent or forwarded; a packet control mechanism is adopted at the exit of the node interface queue so that the data packets are sent and forwarded differently according to the priority of the data packets; and the sent nodes are made to double the contention window thereof or minimize the contention window according to the successful or failed sending of the data packets of the two kinds of data streams, wherein the sent nodes minimize the contention window thereof after the data packets of high priority or the data packets of low priority are retransmitted for the maximum times. The transmission control method can make the data stream of high priority occupy more bandwidth resources and can reduce the transmission time delay and the loss rate of the data packets.
