Health information is the data related to a person’s medical history, including symptoms, diagnoses, procedures, and outcomes. Health information records include patient histories, lab results, x-rays, clinical information, and notes.

Aggregating and pooling health related information in a communication system with feedback

The invention provides a method and system for aggregating and pooling information with feedback in a computer communication system. A communication system includes a server device and a set of client devices. Each client device collects information from an associated individual (whether by asking questions of those individuals, or accepting data input from peripheral devices), and transmits that data to a server device. The server device, or some other device at its behest, determines statistical information with regard to that data (such as aggregate, correlation, dispersion, or other measures), and provides that information to a communication channel for distribution to the individuals. The communication channel can include either (1) a broadcast communication channel that members of an affinity group can display, or (2) redistributing the determined statistical measures to associated individuals using the client devices. The statistical measure (such as an aggregate or sum) can be computed and distributed for the entire population, or can be computed and compared for selected sub-populations as a contest.

System and method for managing health analytics

Health-related information is gathered from a variety of sources, and organized in a platform that is context aware. The health data is correlated and displayed using visualization tools including timelines, tasks or graphical images. Health data input sources can include healthcare providers, users, lab reports, and typically any entity that develops health related data. The health data is categorized, analyzed and processed according to individualized or context-oriented algorithms. The health data can be correlated with various contexts via users, curators, automated systems and other organizing tools. A user can view health data in relation to progress, trends and contextual data that is derived from the correlations.

Umbiliguard

The present invention relates to an infant supervision device featuring an umbilical cord clamp having a hinge, jaws and a locking mechanism. The present invention also contains a wire or a strip of conducting material that runs through the jaws and the hinge and that forms a current carrying circuit as soon as terminals within the locking mechanism are linked, which occurs when the clamp is closed. The clamp has a first end with a hinge and a second end having a locking mechanism. The locking mechanism contains a sensor, which may be an active or passive transmitter, a receiver or a magnet. The sensor is capable of communicating with an external detection device, and alert child care monitors in an event that the clamp is broken or cut, or if an infant wearing the present invention is carried beyond the secure perimeter covered by the external detection device. The clamp may also be able to send out positioning and health related information to the external detection device by using micro waves, radio waive, ultra-sound waives or by communicating with a wireless network.

Method of managing and reducing side effects associated with exposure to a drug

A method for restricted distribution of a drug to a patient while minimizing the occurrence of adverse side effects. The method restricts access to the drug by preventing distribution to certain patients for whom the drug may be contraindicated. The method permits a prescription to be filled by a pharmacy only after the pharmacy has received an approval for release of the prescription. Generation of the prescription approval depends on registration of a prescriber, pharmacy and patient in a central database, and the determination that the risk is acceptable that the patient will experience an adverse side effect. The database contains a patient profile that may include additional patient-specific health-related information that is probative of the risk that an adverse side effect is likely to occur if the patient is exposed to the drug. Based in part on the information in the patient profile, the registered prescriber makes a determination as to the patient's risk of adverse side effects. If the registered prescriber determines that the risk is acceptable, a prescription request is generated. At the time that the prescription is to be dispensed to the patient, the pharmacy also makes a determination as to the patient's risk of adverse side effects. If the pharmacy determines that the risk is acceptable, the drug is dispensed to the patient. Additional steps may be taken to ensure compliance with the drug delivery method, such as education, oversight by a drug safety analyst, and/or regular contact with a representative.

System for integrating and managing health related information

A system for integrating and managing health related information. The system comprises at least one portable data storage device, adapted to store data comprising health related information; at least one external device, adapted to provide health related information; and at least one component adapted to manipulate the health related information stored in the at least one portable data storage device. The at least one external device and the at least one component are adapted to exchange data with the at least one portable data storage device, when the at least one portable data storage device is removably connected with the at least one external device or the at least one component. The health related information in the at least one portable data storage device is stored in a specific format, and is accessible by any external device or component in the system.

Health and wellness guidance system

A health and wellness guidance system is provided. The system may include a memory configured to store health-related information about individual members of a population. The system may also include a processor operatively coupled to the memory and configured to assemble at least one tailored health risk assessment questionnaire package tailored for an individual member of the population. The assembly may be performed in response to at least one of the following: an update to the health-related information stored in the memory, and an addition of new health-related information to the memory.
