The pyroammonium phosphate flame retardant is synthesized mainly with commercial phosphoric acid and urea; cool to proper temperature after the reaction; adjust reaction by adding appropriate neutralization agent; cool crystallize; centrifuge to get the product. The pyroammonium phosphate flame retardant contains pyromonoammonium phosphate, pyrodiammonium phosphate, pyrotriammonium phosphate and pyrotetroammonium phosphate. Its phosphor content exceeds 25% and nitrogen content exceeds10%. Its non-aqueous solubility is moderate. It is highly effective and nontoxic, so it is broadly used in fireproofing coatings, flame-retardant platics, flame-retardant fibres, flame-retardant textiles, wood goods, and so on.
