Abstract

The invention provides a surgical suture with reinforced barbs. The surgical suture comprises a slender body, wherein the slender body is a single-stranded suture with a smooth outer surface; at leastone barb is arranged on the slender single-stranded suture; the barbs are arrayed in one direction or double directions and can be positioned on the single side or the symmetric double sides of the slender single-stranded suture; and the barbs which are positioned on the symmetric double sides can be positioned at the same position or different positions of the slender single-stranded suture. Atleast one annular groove is formed in the lower edge of each barb, a biological adhesion agent coats the inside of each groove; at least one circle of suture is wound in each groove; after winding ofthe suture is finished, each groove is filled with a filling agent completely and smoothly. By the surgical suture with the reinforced barbs, the fixing strength of the single-stranded suture barbs can be improved effectively, the barbs are prevented from failing or being stripped from an axle of the suture, and the risk of failing of a clinical suture surgery is relieved.
