Embodiment Construction

[0033] The present invention will be further described through the embodiments below in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

[0034] like figure 1 As shown, the three-dimensional view of the surface plasmon-based curved waveguide mode converter in this embodiment, the curved waveguide includes two straight waveguides connected with an arc waveguide in the middle, and the arc waveguide includes a pair of parallel sides and an inner arc surface and an outer arc Surface, the section of the inner arc surface and the outer arc surface along the electromagnetic wave propagation direction are respectively a part of a circle and have the same radian. In this embodiment, the radian is 90°, and according to specific design requirements, the radian can be between 0° and 180°. The width of the waveguide port is a and the height is b.

[0035] like figure 2 As shown, the depth of the groove formed on the inner wall of the inner arc surface is h 1 The depth of the uniform grati...

Abstract

The present invention discloses a curved waveguide mode converter based on surface plosmon polaritons and an implementation method thereof. Gratings with the uniform depth are respectively arranged at the inner concave surface and the outer concave surface of an arc waveguide, the inner walls of two sections of straight waveguides connected with the inner concave surface and the outer concave surface are respectively provided with gratings with gradually varied depths, when electromagnetic waves pass through the arc waveguide, a surface wave mode is aroused at the gratings with the uniform depth so as to constrain the electromagnetic waves at the surface, and the grating with gradually varied depths can realizes the wave vector matching between the waveguide mode and the surface wave mode. The curved waveguide mode converter based on the surface plosmon polaritons and the implementation method thereof are compact in structure with no need for other transition parts; compared to a traditional method, through adoption of the lithography technology, the processing is easy, the curved waveguide mode converter based on the surface plosmon polaritons and the implementation method thereof change the depths of the gratings and is also taken as a curved waveguide for usage; the curved waveguide is big in curvature and small in occupied space compared to the curved waveguide having the same functions in the prior art; and moreover, the method provided by the invention is high in mode conversion efficiency can reduce the reflection and other parasitic modes to the lowest.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the field of microwave devices, in particular to a surface plasmon-based curved waveguide mode converter and an implementation method thereof. Background technique [0002] High power microwave systems are widely used in military affairs. For example, high-power microwave radar is used for ranging identification and detection, and high-power denial weapons are used to disperse crowds. In addition, high-power millimeter-wave microwave sources are also an important requirement for heating by thermal nuclear fusion plasma. Generally, a complete microwave system mainly includes three parts: first, a high-power microwave source, and vacuum devices such as gyrotrons are generally used in millimeter and submillimeter waves. 2. Microwave transmission system mainly includes various passive devices such as various transmission lines, waveguides, power splitters, couplers, and mode converters. Third, it mainly includes a microwave tran...
