The water-resistant quick-drying carton adhesive is prepared by the following steps: adding the modified starch and water, mixing, adding the potassium permanganate, sufficiently reacting at normal temperature for 80-120 minutes to gelatinize starch; adding the vinyl-acetate-base emulsion into the gelatinization product to terminate gelatinization; adding the sodium hydroxide and alum into the viscous solution, and stirring for 15-18 minutes; and adding the nano meerschaum powder, borax and reinforcing agent into the obtained solution, stirring uniformly, and cooling the solution by standing, thereby obtaining the adhesive.
