Embodiment 1

[0023] First mix the raw materials according to the following weight ratios:

[0024] 56 parts of methacrylic acid; 44 parts of acrylonitrile; 5 parts of formamide; 1 part of urea; 0.16 parts of azobisisoheptanonitrile; 0.5 parts of stearic acid (release agent).

[0025] Then the raw materials were injected into a mold of 10mm×20mm×20mm, polymerized at 38°C for 12h; 50°C for 5h; 60°C, 70°C, 80°C, 90°C and 100°C for 1h respectively.

[0026] Subsequently, the copolymer sheet is cut into a suitable size, and the expandable particles with a particle size of 10 to 40 meshes are collected through crushing and sieving.

Embodiment 2

[0028] First mix the raw materials according to the following weight ratios:

[0029] 35 parts of methacrylic acid; 65 parts of acrylonitrile; 4 parts of formamide; 1 part of urea; 0.16 parts of azobisisoheptanonitrile;

[0030] Then the raw materials were injected into a mold of 10mm×20mm×20mm, polymerized at 38°C for 12h; 50°C for 5h; 60°C, 70°C, 80°C, 90°C and 100°C for 1h respectively.

[0031] Subsequently, the copolymer sheet is cut into a suitable size, crushed and sieved to obtain expandable particles with a particle size of 10-40 mesh.

Embodiment 3

[0033] First mix the raw materials according to the following weight ratios:

[0034] 65 parts of methacrylic acid; 35 parts of acrylonitrile; 4 parts of formamide; 4 parts of tert-butanol; 0.16 parts of azobisisoheptanonitrile; 0.5 parts of stearic acid (release agent).

[0035] Then the raw materials were injected into a mold of 10mm×20mm×20mm, polymerized at 38°C for 12h; 50°C for 5h; 60°C, 70°C, 80°C, 90°C and 100°C for 1h respectively.

[0036] The copolymer sheet is then cut to a suitable size, crushed and sieved to obtain expandable particles of various particle sizes.

Abstract

The invention discloses expandable particles for producing a polymethacrylimide foamed material and application thereof. The expandable particles are prepared by the following steps of: putting acrylic acid or methacrylic acid, acrylonitrile or methacrylonitrile, an initiator, a molecular weight regulator, a foaming agent, a foam stabilizer, a cross-linking agent and an additive into a mold; performing a primary bulk polymerization reaction at the temperature of between 30 and 50 DEG C for 10 to 72 hours; performing a further bulk polymerization reaction at the temperature of between 50 and 100 DEG C for 1 to 30 hours to obtain a copolymer plate; smashing and screening the copolymer plate to obtain the expandable particles for producing the polymethacrylimide foamed material. Pre-foamed particles can be prepared by pre-foaming the expandable particles at the temperature of between 150 and 230 DEG C for 0.1 to 2 hours, and polymethacrylimide foam particles can be prepared by foaming the pre-foamed particles at the temperature of between 190 and 260 DEG C and curing the foamed particles at the temperature of between 150 and 230 DEG C. The expandable particles expand the use range of the polymethacrylimide foamed material.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the technical field of polymer foam materials, in particular to the technical field of polymethacrylimide foam materials. Background technique [0002] Polymethacrylimide (PMI) foam was developed by the German company Rohm (the predecessor of Degussa) in 1962, industrialized production began in 1971, and it was used in the aviation field in 1972. Today, PMI foam has a wide range of applications, and in recent years, other institutions at home and abroad have also started further research and development of this high-performance foam material. [0003] In the case of the same density, PMI foam has higher compressive strength and rigidity than other polymer foam materials, better high temperature resistance and heat and humidity resistance, and better high temperature creep resistance and dimensional stability. Its outstanding heat resistance and excellent creep resistance at high temperature enable it to withstand the high temp...
