[0327]All experiments were carried out under protocols approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee. Our mouse model is based on one reported by Blackwell's group. Female FVB mice (Jackson Laboratory, n=6) aged 6-8 weeks received weekly intraperitoneal (IP) injections of 1 mg urethane / g body weight dissolved in sterile 0.9% NaCl. Control mice (n=3) received saline IP injections. Twenty weeks after the initial urethane injection, MRI was used to verify lung tumor presence.
