Abstract

The CAD gene is a key gene involved in lignin synthesis. The present invention clones a new CAD gene OjCAD from oenanthe javanica. An open reading frame of the gene is 1074 bp in length, and the geneencodes 357 amino acids. The OjCAD-encoded protein is hydrophobin with a typical CAD1 conserved domain, which belongs to the MDR family. The protein has the closest relationship with the evolution ofApiaceae carrot CAD, and is highly conservative. Fluorescence quantitative expression analysis indicates that the expression level of the OjCAD gene in Baguazhoushuiqin is higher than that of Nanxuanbaguazhouzishuiqin, and the expression level in the leaves is significantly higher than the petiole.
