Abstract

The invention discloses a Solanum muricatum Ait acidic polysaccharide and a purification method and application thereof. The acidic polysaccharide is a homogeneous acidic heteropolysaccharide, the chemical structure thereof contains a pyran ring and a uronic acid, and the acidic polysaccharide is composed of rhamnose, arabinose, galactose, glucose and monosaccharide of galacturonic acid. The method comprises the following steps: crude polysaccharide extraction of Solanum muricatum Ait by (1) drying, pulverizing and impurity removal and (2) water extraction by alcohol sedimentation to obtain awater extraction crude polysaccharide; and separation and purification on the water extraction crude polysaccharide by (i) protein removal, dialysis and vacuum freeze-drying, (ii) macroporous resin adsorption, (iii) anion exchange chromatography purification, and/or (iv) gel column chromatography purification. The obtained Solanum muricatum Ait acidic polysaccharide has good antioxidant capacity and can be used for food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries as a novel antioxidant.
