Abstract

The invention provides a plant essential oil composition for dairy cows and a preparation method thereof. The plant essential oil composition comprises, by weight, 1-8 parts of eugenol subjected controlled-release treatment, 1-15 parts of cinnamyl aldehyde and a mixture of carvacrol and thymol which are subjected to rumen bypass treatment, wherein the mixture comprises 1-8 parts of carvacrol, 1-8 parts of thymol and 10-40 parts of carriers for rumen bypass. The preparation method includes: using the carriers for rumen bypass as the rumen bypass coating of the carvacrol and the thymol to obtain a product, and evenly mixing the obtained product with the eugenol and the cinnamyl aldehyde to obtain the plant essential oil composition. The plant essential oil composition is mainly used for replacing rumensin in the rumen, inhibiting and killing harmful bacteria in the intestinal tracts of the dairy cows, promoting the proliferation of beneficial bacteria, preventing the diarrhea and constipation of the dairy cows, lowering somatic cell counts and increasing milk yield, milk fat rate and milk protein rate.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention belongs to the technical field of feed additives, in particular to a plant essential oil composition for dairy cows and a preparation method thereof. Background technique [0002] The use of antibiotic ionophore (rumenin) can reduce the loss of energy and protein caused by rumen fermentation. However, adding antibiotics to feed may cause residues in livestock products and produce drug-resistant bacteria, which is not accepted by the public. In January 2006 the European Union has banned the use of antibiotics. China has made it clear that antibiotics cannot be added to dairy cow feed. Based on this, animal nutrition scientists began to study alternatives to antibiotics to regulate rumen fermentation, including yeast, organic acids, plant extracts (mainly plant essential oils) and prebiotics. [0003] Plant essential oils have a wide range of antibacterial activities, and have inhibitory effects on both Gram-negative and positive bacteri...
