Abstract

The invention discloses a polypropylene (PP) continuous long fiber sheet and a preparation method thereof. The sheet is composed of 40-60 wt% of long glass fibers arranged in parallel to the sheet length and 40-60 wt% of modified PP resin. The modified PP resin is prepared from the following raw materials in percentage by weight: 88-95% of PP resin, 0.5-1.5% of hyperbranched polymer S12, 4-8% of maleic anhydride graft PP and 1-3% of PP antioxidant aid master batch. The PP is modified by using the novel hyperbranched polymer in a melt kneading facility, thereby enhancing the flowability of the PP material and the dispersity of the glass fibers in the PP on the premise of not influencing the mechanical properties; people do not need to independently purchase or produce the high-flowability PP, thereby simplifying the production technique; and the method enhances the processibility of the sheet, and lowers the requirements of sheet production for processing equipment and PP. The sheet disclosed by the invention has favorable mechanical properties.
