The boric sludge ceramsite is prepared from, by volume, 35%-45% of boric sludge, 30%-40% of oil shale dregs, 10%-15% of fly ash, 3%-10% of binder and 5%-10% of pore-forming agent. The preparation method includes the steps that blending is conducted according to the proportion of the formula, the materials enter a ball mill to be added with water for ball-milling, the ball-milled sludge is dried after moisture is drained, and a dried sludge block is crushed to be in a powder shape and then is formed to be made into a straight spherical particle raw material; the spherical particle raw material is placed in a rotary kiln to be dried, preheated, roasted and cooled to a normal temperature, and the running time of spherical particles in the kiln is about 60 minutes altogether.
