The preservative composition is relatively wide in antibacterial spectrum and can be used as a preservative to be used for cosmetics to take the effects of inhibiting the growth of bacteria and fungi; and antibacterial components of the composition are selected from plant active substances both used as medicines and foods, have no harms to a human body, have no irritation, no allergy and no toxic or side effect, and can be safely applied to the cosmetics.
