Abstract

The invention provides a method for preparing environment-friendly low-smoke flame retardant powdered butadiene styrene rubber with the maximum smoke density less than 110 and the oxygen index more than 40%. In the invention, butylbenzene latex and acid anhydrides are subjected to acylation reaction, then polar latex is used to modify expandable graphite (EG) through coating, and finally the acylated butylbenzene latex and the functionalized EG are mixed to directly agglomerate to powder. According to the invention, the compatibility between the EG and the rubber material as well as the dimension stability of the particles are significantly improved, and the problem that the EG is dispersed non-uniformly in the rubber matrix is overcome. The flame retardant powdered butadiene styrene rubber is endowed with characteristics of environment-friendly property, low smoke and high efficiency.
