Abstract

A thickening agent composition and applications thereof in cosmetics are disclosed. The composition comprises sclerotium gum and ammonium acryloyldimethyltaurate / beheneth-25 methacrylate crosspolymer which are adopted as thickening agents. In preferred embodiments, the weight ratio of the sclerotium gum to the ammonium acryloyldimethyltaurate / beheneth-25 methacrylate crosspolymer ranges from 1:20 to 20:1. Applications of the composition in cosmetics comprising electrolytes are also disclosed.
