The invention discloses a rubber cladding layer for cylinder of a conveyor and preparation method thereof, wherein the outer side of the roller core of the cylinder of the conveyor is covered with a rubber cladding layer; the rubber cladding layer comprises the following components based on parts by weight: 100 parts of neoprene, 9-12 parts of vulcanizer, 0.3-0.5 parts of accelerator, 1-2 parts of activator, 30-70 parts of reinforcing agent, 10-20 parts of plasticized softener, 2-4 parts of antiager and 20-50 parts of special compounding ingredient. The preparation method comprises preparation of rubber, processing on the roller core, shaping and vulcanizing. In comparison with the existing technology, the acid-base proof rubber cladding layer is prepared by new formula materials and can keep the original physical performance after a long time stay in the acid-base bath lotion such that the cylinder of a conveyor can be used in acid-base and chemicals environment for a long time.
