Wearable Trigger Electronic Percussion Music System

ActiveUS20110132181A1Make the system user or musician transparentElectrophonic musical instrumentsLoudspeakerEngineering
A Wearable Trigger Electronic Music System that can be adopted for simulating any kind of music, anywhere, any time. As for example one can create all the benefits of the percussion instrument such as a drum kit but without the cost and burden of a drum kit. Same also applies to string, wind and other types of instruments of any nation, any culture, any motif, any era any age etc. The system includes all its constituent components including sensors, transducers, electronics, music module, pre-amps and amplifiers, wired or wireless to connections for intra and inter modules including final enjoyment by wired or wireless headphones or speakers. Also delineated is the process of creating music for the DIY enthusiast.

Method and apparatus for pacing human body exercises using audible cues

A method and apparatus for pacing human exercises includes a sequence of pre-recorded, repetitive humanly perceptible signals in which a first, accented signal pulse, such as the first beat in a four-four measure of musical time, establishes a repetitive rhythmic tempo to thus provide timing track signal for synchronizing various phases of an exercise. The rhythmic pulses, which are preferably provided by a percussion instrument such as a drum and accompanied by musical tones, are accompanied by instructions verbalized by an exercise trainer in synchronization with the timing track signal. The perceptible signals are preferably audible and are optionally accompanied by or replaced by visibly perceptible signals such as flashing lights.

Hinged drumstick

A percussion instrument is disclosed that may include a body having a longitudinal axis extending from a butt end to a striking end thereof and at least one hole extending along a transverse axis through the thickness of the body; and a grasping mechanism having a first grip plate at a first end thereof and a second grip plate at a second end thereof, and at least one shaft extending through the hole in the body. The percussion instrument may further include a compliance mechanism disposed between the first and second grip plates, enabling the first and second grip plates to be brought closer together in response to a compressive force applied to the grasping mechanism. Additionally or alternatively, the percussion instrument may include one or more recesses or bores that operate to permit the grip plates to be disposed therein for a more compact design.

Hi-hat percussion instrument

ActiveUS10643589B1Enhance and change desired sound effectEnhance or modify said hi-hat's soundPercussion musical instrumentsMechanical engineeringMusical instrument
An instrument modeled after a hi hat hi-hat consisting of wood, metal (or other material) and linked material, creating a complex sound effect when closed together, and an “808” (i.e. Roland “808” or similar) snare drum sound when struck with drumstick is disclosed. This invention allows drummers to create complex sounds using the hi-hat pedal (or other mounting device), to lower the Top Hi-hat toward the Bottom Hi-hat and cause the linked material to connect with the “bottom hi-hat.” The claimed device also replaces the standard electronic pad (such as but not limited to the Roland SPDS sampler pad) that recreated the famous “808” (i.e. Roland “808” or similar) handclap sound. Variations of the invention is meant to be used either alongside the traditional metal hi-hat or in lieu of the traditional metal hi-hat.

Percussion musical instrument

A drumhead that is removably fitted onto a drum shell and seated in a rubber ring to create a seal to form a percussion instrument is disclosed. The percussion instrument thus formed does not require any hardware, rope, or adhesives applying tension to hold the drumhead to the drum shell to create a normal percussive sound.

Working principle of electronic percussion instrument

InactiveCN106023973AMeet the needs of real-time accurate measurementAccurately calculate the pressure valueElectrophonic musical instrumentsHelmholtz resonatorEngineering
The invention relates to the field of music instrument equipment, and discloses a working principle of an electronic percussion instrument. Based on the working principle of the electronic percussion instrument, the percussion rate of a user and the X / Y-axis offset of percussion keys can be measured according to dynamic space position and pressure, a corresponding signal frequency spectrogram can be obtained through Fourier series transform, and finally, a sound of which the frequency is 20-50Hz is produced under the mapping action of a Helmholtz resonator. The working principle can be applied to music creation, instrument playing practice and other scenes, and plays a huge role in the fields of music enlightenment education and music therapy.

Electronic percussion instrument

An electronic percussion instrument includes a body having a top opening and an internal support area, and a drumhead having a striking surface and a drumhead bottom surface opposite thereto, the drumhead is stretched over the top opening of the body and is configured to receive a percussion strike thereon, and at least one peripheral sensor disposed on the internal support area of the body, and at least one rising element configured to be flexible and disposed on the internal support area of the body, and a peripheral carrier, adapted to receiving vibrations from the periphery of the drumhead, the peripheral carrier is supported by the at least one rising element such that a pressing force is formed for setting a top circumferential edge of the peripheral carrier in contact with the drumhead bottom surface.

Training/Practice Mallet for Keyboard Percussion Instruments

A training and practice mallet for keyboard percussion instruments comprising a slender, substantially cylindrical mallet shaft with a gripping end and a striking end, the gripping end improved and enhanced with a pommel, or knob, affixed to the gripping end terminus, the pommel (knob) of suitable size to be gripped in the user's hand without impeding multi-mallet manipulation, and the striking end improved with a lightweight mallet head whereby a reduced volume is produced when striking a keyboard percussion instrument and in turn reducing fatigue and irritation in the user's hands and wrists. The training and practice mallet allows for increased control and confidence at low volumes while learning complex four-mallet grips. A pommel as described above and fitted to a conventional mallet for keyboard percussion instruments.

Multi-purpose Percussion Accessory Stand

A multi-purpose percussion accessory stand having a primary board with horizontal support surface or tray table, a guard board attachable at a rear edge of the horizontal support surface of the primary board, and multiple mounting hardware for attaching the primary board to a stand posts, which may be used in conjunction with a commercially available tripod. The percussion accessory stand may be sold as a kit that includes multiple accessories, such as customized hooks, brackets, and hardware, that can be removably attached to primary board for holding multiple implements and accessory musical instruments. The accessory stand is highly configurable, light-weight, and portable. The versatile design has a unique combination of features that are particularly useful for the genres of musical theater and chamber music.

Electronic percussion instrument and sound production control method thereof

An electronic percussion instrument and sound production control method thereof are provided. In an electronic cymbal, the output of a musical sound is controlled in accordance with the results of detection from a strike sensor when the strike sensor detects a strike on a striking surface. While the musical sound is output, if a user touches the striking surface, an electrostatic capacitance sensor outputs an output value in accordance with the contact condition so that the musical sound is attenuated in accordance with the output value while being output. Therefore, the user can attenuate the musical sound being output in accordance with the contact conditions on the striking surface, thereby silencing the musical sound by way of the action similar to that of the acoustic cymbal choke that is the action of touching the striking surface.
