System and method for jumping to a timepoint in a MPEG file

A system and method for performing seek or jump functions in a digitally stored audiovisual file are described. When the audiovisual file is recorded onto a storage medium, headers, which are distinct and separable from the audiovisual file datastream, are set in the audiovisual file in the storage medium. Each header contains a timestamp. When jumping / seeking, an estimated position for the desired timepoint on the storage medium is calculated by multiplying the storage unit per time unit rate by the desired timepoint. Then the system and method jumps to the estimated position, where the timestamp in the nearest header is checked to determine whether the time it indicates is close enough to the desired timepoint. If it is not, a new estimated position is calculated and the method repeats until either an iteration limit is reached or the estimated position is determined to be close enough to the desired timepoint.

Method for synchronising metadata with an audiovisual document by using parts of frames and a device for producing such metadata

The invention relates to a method and a device for synchronising metadata associated by a first signature to a first version of an audiovisual document, with a second version of this audiovisual document. The method is characterised in that it synchronises the metadata with the second version of the audiovisual document from a second signature detected in the portion of the second version of the audiovisual document, said portion of the second version of the audiovisual document being obtained by detecting the first signature in the second version of the audiovisual document. In this way, the precision of the synchronisation between the two items of video content carried out by the first signature is improved by the second signature, and new, more accurate metadata is created.

Audio-visual content retrieval method and system

The invention discloses an audio-visual content retrieval method. The method comprises the steps of obtaining audio-visual original data; packaging the audio-visual original data into an audio-visualfile according to a specific format, and storing the audio-visual file in a file library; performing identification processing on the audio-visual original data, and outputting an identification text;obtaining description information and a timestamp corresponding to the recognition text; packaging the path information, the identification text, the description information and the timestamp of theaudio-visual file into a comparison data body, and storing the comparison data body in a database; and obtaining a user retrieval request, judging whether the retrieval request is matched with the comparison data volume in the database or not, if so, calling the audio-visual file corresponding to the comparison data volume, and skipping to play the audio-visual file. Correspondingly, the inventiondiscloses an audio-visual content retrieval system. By adopting the method and the device, the retrieval comparison database is established according to the recognition text of the audio-visual original data and the corresponding timestamp, so that the retrieval efficiency can be improved, and different retrieval preferences can be met.
