The low molecular weight citrus pectin delays sugar and fat absorption in alimentary canal which influences cholic acid metabolism and indirectly changes activity of lipid metabolism enzyme and promotes sugar and fat metabolism in body which reduces blood sugar and blood fat. After being absorbed and entering into blood circulation, the citrus pectin promotes activity of sugar and fat catabolic enzyme in liver and other organs and reduces activity of sugar and fat synzyme in liver and other organs, which hence reduces blood sugar and blood fat and cures diabetes and fatty liver.
