Abstract

The invention provides a gear oil composition and a preparation method thereof. The gear oil composition comprises the following components: (a) a phenolic derivative; (b) a sulfur-containing extreme pressure anti-wear agent; (c) a phosphorus-containing anti-wear agent; (d) an anti-foaming agent; and (e) a major amount of a lubricating base oil. The structure of the phenol derivative is shown as a general formula (I), wherein the definition of each group is shown in the specification. The gear oil composition disclosed by the invention has excellent thermal oxidation stability, extreme pressure wear resistance, corrosion and rust resistance, foam resistance and low-temperature performance, and can meet the use requirements of vehicle gear oil and industrial gear oil with different viscosity grades and different specifications.
