Abstract

The invention provides an ink coating device which can inhibit poor ink coating caused by the fact that a sufficient modification effect of a surface cannot be exerted. The surface modification device changes the lyophilicity of the surface of the substrate. The inkjet head converts ink into droplets and discharges the ink toward the substrate. The control device controls the surface modification device and the ink jet head. And a control device monitors each substrate whose surface is modified by the surface modification device for the elapsed time and stops ejection of ink from the inkjet head for the substrate whose elapsed time after surface modification exceeds an allowable upper limit value.
