Abstract

The invention relates to chemical synthesis of a precursor namely the omega-bromohydrin-1of products like sex pheromone and prostaglandin of insects. The invention solves the problem of low yield of the omega-bromohydrin-1. The preparation method comprises the following concrete steps: placing reaction substrates namely 1,omega-alkanediol and hydrobromic acid, a catalyst and a solvent into a bottle A connected with a condenser tube; placing the solvent into a bottle B at the same time, carrying out heating, and maintaining boiling; allowing the bottle A to communicate with the bottle B through a branch tube, and allowing solvent vapor in the bottle B to enter the bottle A throughthe branch tube and to reflux into the bottle A under the action of condensation; and allowing generated omega-bromohydrin-1 to rise with the liquid level of the bottle A to enter the bottle B throughthe branch tube so as to timely separate a product from the reaction substrates. The method provided by the invention avoids generation of a by-product namely 1,omega-dibromoalkane, and improves theselectivity of a reaction and the final yield of the omega-bromohydrin-1.
